Just sent out the invite to the Sunday “Big Foot Hills” ride. 8 am start, should be 2 hours maximum, with only small hills and lots of flat for those that love it!
If I’ve missed you off the invite list and you want to join, let me know and I’ll add you.
I did big foot hills last weekend, decent course with reasonable climbs such as volcano climb, don’t think I can bear it again and planning a big ride out whilst I still can for Saturday or Sunday so will give it a miss.

I’m gonna try to make this, unless it’s get out into the real world weather…. 🙂
I can’t make this Sunday, tomorrow I am doing a route on my other App, Can do a Friday commute and can also do a Saturday morning ride too if anyone about.
I am good for the morning. Tried doing a Zwift academy group ride at 2pm today. It crashed every time I joined the pen so think it must have been to busy. Gave up in the end and didn’t do a ride today!
I was on the 8am workout #3…jeez it was hard. Was proper gasping for air after the last session 4x sets of 2 minutes at 320w and 2 minutes at 150w…3rd and 4th set were just a case of making it to the end.
I also had 3 dropouts during the ride DrP, really frustrating. Every time I was a minute back and had to chase down which killed my legs towards the end.
For future reference, I’d you join late it drops you next to the last man I believe…not the start
Thanks guys for that this morning. I had moments where I was going to sack it off but decided to keep plugging away.
Crikey! That was a slog!
There were several times I was gonna call it a day – especially with the random internet drop-outs although that did settle down after volcano climb.
I had no oomph today at all – I don’t think I’m a morning person and didn’t get out of bed until just after 7:30!
I did a short-ish explore of some local woods yesterday, but wasn’t going particularly hard so my legs shouldn’t have been particularly tired…
I don’t know what your set-up is like DrP, but I ended up buying a 3m usb extension and using cable ties to fasten it to the leg of a shelf unit that sits right next to the turbo trainer.
The dongle stays permanently plugged in and I just have to plug the wire into the laptop when getting set-up.
It can be a real pain trying to diagnose the source of these problems….laptop/dongle/Zwift/Windows etc…
I have hardwired my network as well but might not be an option for all. If I am joining a meet-up I try and do the warm up in the same world to prevent it dropping out on switching worlds. Pretty stable apart from yesterday when I think there were too many people on the Zwift academy rides.
I enjoyed this morning and attacking the shorter hills. Hit 348w for 5 mins which is a new record but should have tried harder to hit 350 lol.
Hit pbs on the 4 shorter climbs by quite a margin it seems so a good mornings work. Annoying about the others getting dropouts though as it just took the momentum out of the ride. I like that route though.
Yeah I like the route too…got PB’s on both directions of the hilly KOM but I think they are just 30 day PB’s…not my actual best. But not bad when my legs were complaining on the reverse one.
I know I would have had more if it hadnt been for the dropouts, the volcano took a bit out of me trying to catch up.
