Thanks all for shepherding me round – was just about done at the top.
I think my fitness is improving a little.
After the update to ATV and before the event I wasn’t able to update my weight on Zwift, which is down a kilo, I couldn’t get the remote to go to my name, so that was a bit of a bummer. Might be a bug or finger trouble, hard to tell with the atv remote.
That looks like an amazing team ride. It’s a tough course, finishing all together and getting @haloric to the top, but just about done, is spot on. Must have needed teamwork and judgement…
It’s the hilly route next week – so the forward KOM, which is a much more familiar TTT obstacle. I’ll put two teams in and see who we can tempt into action.
Great. Welcome back @retrorick! (please no MTBs though…).
Do you have a WTRL account? Entry is one click now. I’ll post the link later in the week, but using it goes via WTRL. If you don’t have one, go here https://www.wtrl.racing/registration.php
I need to do the wrtl sign up…
I’ll try my best in the A team if that’s the only team entered. Don’t mind being dropped either if I lack the power to keep up.
I have two entries to hand, start delays and racepass links. But I’m around tomorrow so I’ll sit on them for now and see where we end up. I’ll post the info in good time though.
If we do end up with 9 we could split 5-4 I suppose. But I think it would be better to field a single team of 8, even for those of you who requested a B team. I’ll keep trying to get numbers up to make that more feasible.
I’m happy to be overruled – I’m not riding after all. Speak up. I’ll settle on something just after lunch.
@savoyad
I’m not going to know until late on if I can make it or not – the only way I can un-maybe would be to say definitely out, and I’d like to keep the option of joining if I can make it and if there’s 7 or less riders make it to the start line.
Thanks @Savoyad, I appreciate it’s not easy satisfying everyone when we are on the cusp of two teams again. Everyone has busy lives and juggling work and family means it’ll always be as last minute decision on finalising line-ups. For what it’s worth, I think if we have some newbies or returnees, they might be better off in a bigger team of 8 than one of 4 or 5.
Not adding to the 5-4 split debate but anyone who hasnt done it for a while dont forget to wear the bumblebee jersey! We go up the steeper side of the hilly route but it means you suffer for less time and get more time to recover on the descent!
I enjoyed riding as a team and occasionally being told off 🤣.
My pre tt warm up helped. Whilst searching for my zwift id for the wrtl registration I updated my weight, down to 75kg from 78kg and with my recently raised FTP from the Tuesday night races combined with a low rpm stand up pedaling approach I found it easier to power up the short climbs.
I’m a possible for next week. Tbc nearer the time.
