LOL @ Bruce – there is actually no such thing as the iDave diet, you should now have access to the other forum though.

    Ed.

Another selective response to the points I’ve posted.
This time you’ve selected Gluten, but ignored Phytate and Lectins…………….

Is not your selective posting equally insulting ?.

Like you take this superior stance towards us, you assuming that you can tell us how it really is, and that we’re too dumb to have a valid, if contradictory opinion, to the Edukator.
You have consistently ignored the info and links I have posted.
This is not a mistake or oversight on your behalf.

Just look at the pseudo name you have selected for yourself.
Hardly a good start is it.

You’re here to Edukate me, but if I ask you a question about, for example, phytate in your much loved bread.
    You ignore this.

Therefore, as far as I’m concerned.
    You have no currency here.

    You’re just trolling.

Solo – “Whatever you are eating is your diet.”

Well done correct. However , I eat pretty much what I want, when I want. I havent had to change my eating habbits or lifestyle (ie spending more time cooking etc)

Diets are things where people generally follow a strict regieme, different to normal eating habbits, and most people who follow diets tend to revert to poor eating habbits after a period of time and put weight back on.

I considered doing the iDiet (more as people were saying they felt so much better on it) and was forwarded the original pdf info. I looked at it and thought it wasn’t possible with my lifestlye, and that I would miss eating nice food.

I think its great that some one has shared their knowledge for free and I think its great that so many people are benefiting from it, but if its meant for avg Joe, are people loosing weight because they are not eating so much sh!t as they were before, and they could easily have acheived weight loss by cutting out the McDonalds meal anyhow? Diets are good because they force people to change habit (on a temporary basis) but then they tend to go back to their lardy ways.

My thoughts are that as long as the intensity of the exercise is high it gets you leaner

    I’m not saying that.

High intensity exercise on an empty stomach isn’t what I’d undertake.

You mean all these arguments are about nothing?

    Don’t you people have jobs?

See I’m interested in all this stuff, I just wish the conversation was easier to follow. There seem to be a handful of people with a lot of history who assume we’ve read everything they’ve written, which I haven’t. You’re putting the rest of us off you know 🙂

Sorry Stever… what do you want to know?

Do you want me to write a iCharacter guide?

Solo – I just read some stuff on phytic acid? I don’t see the problem?

To lose 2.3 kilograms you need to burn 16 000 calories worth of body fat. A calorie deficit of over 2000 calories a day is a lot especially for a sedentary person (an hour on a home trainer is negligible). I suggest the weight loss came from different levels of hydration and bowel content.

I haven’t accused anyone of being dumb and have remained civil despite the insults. As for my pseudo, objecting to it demonstrates you’re looking for any excuse to attack me rather than enter into debate. We obviously don’t have the same cultural references:

Ton – thas comendable, but how long did it take you to prep your breakfast?

ie Beans have to solk for 24hrs, then you have to make the source. A chicken takes about 1.5hrs to cook in the oven.

I have 30 mins in the morning to do everything, let alone cooking a meal…

You are refering to the marketing men’s definition of Diet

Diet is actually the history of what you have eaten and continue to eat.

Diets are good because they force people to change habit (on a temporary basis) but then they tend to go back to their lardy ways.

What you mean by Diet and we are discussing are two different things dude.

    Another dodge by the Edukator.

How can I enter into a debate with you if you do not answer or respond to the points I raise ?.

I find your continued avoidance of the points I raise, insulting.

If I don’t reply it could be that I recognise the value of the research you quote but consider it a minor factor that might concern some people but isn’t worth worrying about for the vast majority of people, Solo. For almost every food you can find research to indicate there are negatives. You didn’t reply to link I posted about the negatives of a high protein diet, I’m not insulted. Look at the amount of insult and provocation thrown at me on this thread (now that’s trolling not posting opinions) I don’t do page long Junkyard style disecting defences.

Bit confused about how red wine can be included as a No Calories drink.

Is this still the right place to ask these kind of questions?

I could have called people names, been sarcastic or condescending, Solo, I didn’t. I think just presenting an alternative view using simple straghtforward English is better.

“iDave accuses me of being incapable of changing my mind whilst refusing to consider changing his.”

Hmm. But I already changed my view, several years ago, from your bread and pasta free-for-all. In fact I’ve changed my views this week on some nutrition and performance strategies, based on evidence presented by people better qualified than I.

So, simple question for you Edukator. Could it be ‘possible’ that your views are incorrect? Not saying they are, asking if they ‘could’ be? Yes or no is fine.

I’d expect nothing less than for you to try to paint yourself whiter than white.

But dismissing info, and insisting that your information, although outdated.
    Is the only true way.
    Is insulting.

I do not contest that you can lose and maintain a weight on your diet combined with your level of activity.

But there are alternatives which appear to take into account more recent observations made in science.

Has not our understanding of geology changed over time, with advancements in discovery and technology used to observe and measrue ?.

So why hasn’t understanding of diet moved on since that employed to advise the French olympic team ?.

    Ok, thats enough.
all sides are entrenched in their view, with little prospect of change or agreement.
I do not think I can give anymore, here.
