Well I was one of the people that pointed out the unnecessary disrespect.

…… and I was one who pointed out that actually there was very little on here. Somehow it seems that the apologist view of disrespect is seeing her for the self serving selfish cow that she was, and that wasting £10 million of public money on a disgusting homage to a devisive and deeply unpopular PM is wrong in the current economic climate.

Its not, its just honest. Showing up and throwing rotten fruit at the cortege would, whilst warranted be disrespectful at the same time. However, clearly the trotskiest leftist, commy red under the bed hobbledhoys aren’t apparently as insensitive as the arses who think todays shennigans, alongside giving the top 10% of society a tax cut at the same time as cutting benefits for the weakest and poorest in society is a reasonable way to behave.

    and breathe…

Yet another day that she makes me ashamed to be British. I am sure that the (sane parts at least) of the rest of the world are laughing at us spending our last pennies on she who broke us.

You would be surprised how highly she was thought of abroad. My Spanish friends are of the opinion that they could do with someone like her to sort out the mess the country is in.

Unbelieveable – in the mess they’re in?!

They’re welcome to her. I’m sure she’ll haunt us for years to come.

Large parts of the RoW admired here and find the negativity in the UK genuinely puzzling, Plus they are always impressed by British pomp. But its not just the Spanish who remain fans – the Evening Standard wrote that an IPSOS Mori poll concluded that Mrs T was still seen as the number 1 leader for a crisis such as the current one, with strong support from “skilled, working people.”

well if we’re judging her legacy on anecdotal evidence, i was hearing from my german colleague today how she was widely loathed there for opposing unification. as for ireland, i suggest you walk into any pub in the country and test your little theory out.

My Spanish friends are of the opinion that they could do with someone like her to sort out the mess the country is in.

of course that proves a lot. you could probably find the odd spaniard still going dewy eyed thinking of franco.

Those survey results were somewhat mixed though THM C2 aside.
Bit unfair on major as well and shows it was more about personality than ability. Brown did better than I would have thought.
As fir Spain so e persons friend does not a survey make.
I dont know what the RoW thought nor do I care much tbh

So disappointing that They were all in one place yet the opportunity was let slip…
I blame Thatcher. We can’t even do civil unrest the way we used to…

Anyway, time to lay this thread to rest as well.

    I’m finished here.

…so they sent off a postal order to HM Treasury with a note saying “for the Thatcher funeral fund”? 😉

Well, I was actually asking why you were presuming anyone who finds celebrating the death of Thatcher distasteful fits into the “Tory Boy” category.

But I get it, you don’t want answer. That’s fair enough.

Dissapointed the argie prime minister wasn’t there today to pay her respects, afterall Maggie did her little bit to restore it to democracy….. With a little help from 2Para of course 🙂

Well anyway the old bitch is in the ground with her mate Jimmy Saville now so that’s that.

So what have we learned, or more accurately just remembered? All Tories are arseholes, it’s just by varying degrees. Most nu-labourites are not much better to be honest although they still have their humanity intact. Just not much common sense. I do love a crisis or a death. It helps to shine a light into places it doesn’t usually penetrate.

Those that oppose her should be grateful that they have had it so good for so long. Without her they would have to bow to Dear Leader who would demand them mining (including alien probing …) every ounce from the coal mine to pollute the world. Mind you this would free up NHS resources because most would simply die young mining in the pit.

Yes, it’s rather parasitic when the workers kept demanding more money while non of their produce could sell apart from forcing the domestic market to absorb them. Yes, everyone can start a loss making company and you do not need a genius to do so.

If you really oppose her than please bow down to the Supreme Dearest of the Dears, King of all Dears and God of maggots because there are no other alternatives. What? Another Dear Leader? Where?

    5) Where are the tory boys who were accusing everyone of disrespect?
Well I was one of the people that pointed out the unnecessary disrespect.

Does that make me a “Tory Boy” ?

Apparently you seem to think it does

Wow, you need learn some basic logic or set theory, maybe start with Venn diagrams.

It’s certainly what it sounded like.

And if it wasn’t what he meant, he only had to say.

Shocking how some folks say one thing but actually mean another.

I wonder about that £10m figure. Is it one of those dodgy stats that include costs that would have been incurred anyway, like the salaries of all the servicemen, running costs of St Paul’s etc? In the same way that you read about helicopters costing £20000 an hour to run.

Yeap. They simply converted all the time and personnel etc into cost and then started talking about £££ …

We pay for it … no you don’t … you are on benefits … we pay your benefits.

The £10m figure is a guess. The government said they would announce what the total was after the event.

    Pretty good article

thats very interesting, and quite worrying that the coalition seem to think that following her creed will do anything other than make things worse

particularly the high unemployment and increase in inequality

Whimbrel the fact theres 50 odd pages on some obscure biking website dedicated to her says it all, as some of the resident attention seekers are proving by their amount of posts on the subject. She would be proud 😀

Though, considering how public they’ve already been about fiddling the figures, I think it’s a given that the final number will be cobblers.
