The riders are picking their way down the features of the new Red Bull Hardline course in Tasmania, ticking them off and stringing them together. Race day is Saturday 24th February, with the broadcast scheduled to be live from 7am (!) in the UK. Eggs over easy, breakfast viewing hard AF?
How To Watch Red Bull Hardline Tasmania
You can watch on the Red Bull TV app, or on YouTube, from 7am in the UK on Saturday 24th February.
Red Bull Hardline Tasmania Course Stats
Track Length – 2.3km
Vertical elevation – 575m
Largest gap jump – 75ft / 23m
Largest vertical drop – 10m+
Estimated course race time – 3.5min
Highest elevation point – 925m above sea level
Geology on the course changes three times, which results in totally different rock and soil types throughout the course.
Local flora includes; Eucalyptus Regnans (the world’s tallest flowering plant, and one of the world’s tallest trees- they grow up to and above 100m tall).
Following on from last year’s women’s camp at Hardline, this Tasmanian edition sees a number a number of female riders tackling the course. Unlike last year, there’s no separation between the men and women, so everyone is figuring out their first hits together. Tahnee Seagrave is one of the riders surprising herself at watch she can achieve – somewhat encouraged by the fact that when you’re hucking off a giant gap, you’re unlikely to encounter a spider.
That Matt Jones video was great! It’s made me feel so much better about myself!
Seeing what a difference it makes having someone to follow to riding blind… seeing him get left for dust and then giving himself more and more of a talking to because he’s pulling up on stuff just because he can’t see what it is…getting tired because he’s having to drag his brakes…cursing himself some more…
This is basically my life at press camps, where the guides lead out the train, all the male journos disappear following them, and then I get dropped somewhere and end up riding a blind enduro race on a new bike on new trails. Next time it happens I shan’t berate myself quite so much for being a failure!
I agree, that was a great watch. I’m enjoying the Gasto vlogs. He’s accomplished and relatively comfortable with riding the track… yet he’s also finding it hard work. Weirdly I really like the way you can hear his breathing as it shows how hard he’s working.
Fwiw my ‘performance bantz’ comment was just after watching a bit of gasto vlog and he started rapping but I didn’t watch the whole thing. I really like brayton and met him on the caersws uplift 15-16 years ago and he was all mild mannered. And also watch BK a lot and it can get a bit wearying. But he’s a good guy. Sos. I retract my comments. I’m just jealous I’m not riding the track in tassie
@chrismac – I think only a couple of the women had hit the big jumps at the bottom by that point so couldn’t register full runs (see BK’s qualy vid at about 5:30 where the marshall is talking to BK and Tahnee about it).
Well, that was 100% worth getting up for while still digesting last night’s bottle of wine! I was already looking forward to watching the new Mondraker team this year, now even more so!
Just great ! Racing , commentary, just shows what the WC is missing.@stwhannah
You must be so made up that Gracey and Louise have broken through 👍I can’t believe how tiny Gracey is must make those gaps look 10 times bigger ! Any news on Jackson ? He certainly dodged a bullet there !
Reminded me of the Cheddar Challenge way back when , my mate actually slammed into a tree at the bottom of Devils Drop , he’s built like a brick shithouse , I think the tree shuddered!😁
He asked me what I thought he’d done wrong ? ”
🤔 Hitting the tree came to mind ! 😁
Can we start a campaign to get Warner back on the mic for the WCs ? 💪💪💪💪
Dunne put on a cracking run for sure and with that post race interview a shiny new helmet can’t be far off – Dream red bull rider lol! 4 before the race and 1 after I wouldn’t like to be sharing a room with him tonight.
What an event. So many people on the mountain. Putting a bar in the container used for the drop was a brilliant idea. The videos really don’t do justice to how bloody big it was.
Here’s Connor Fearon on his way to the hot seat.
I have been having a bit of a time getting excited about riding of late. Had a crash last Oct and only just ready to ride again, watching that yesterday has fired me up again, it was fantastic. As already said, highlight for me was Lou Fergusson getting up from those 2 crashes and still completing the run. My brain would have had me running for the closest airport and back on a plane to the safety of my couch in the UK after the first crash let alone the 2nd.

Can’t remember whose youtube it was but she said she’d decided to stop after the second but a kid in the crowd asked if she was going to finish. Really impressive race. Hope Jackson’s okay, he seemed to slingshot around that tree just after Elliot told everyone how precise he’s riding.
I came to Singletrack having decided there must be more to life than meetings. I like all bikes, but especially unusual ones.
More than bikes, I like what bikes do. I think that they link people and places; that cycling creates a connection between us and our environment; bikes create communities; deliver freedom; bring joy; and improve fitness. They're environmentally friendly and create friendly environments.
I try to write about all these things in the hope that others might discover the joy of bikes too.
