    In first place for me must be God Shuffled His Feet by Crash Test Dummies. I loved it in 1993 and still do now. Track 5, Swimming in Your Ocean, was our fist dance choice at our wedding in 1996.I think our guests were a tad perplexed!

    Second place is Down From Above by Ruby Blue. A brilliant folk album brimming with harmony-filled, uplifting tracks packed with nostalgia from college days and youth.

    Joshua Tree by U2 is my most played for sure, but is also one I’ve been aware of since it came out so my first real full album I liked.

    Most played in recent times is probably American Idiot by Green Day.

    Three, in no particular order:
    – The Levellers – Levelling The Land;
    – Urban Species – Blanket;
    – Nirvana – Unplugged in New York.

    All still on regular rotation on the MP3 player.

    In terms of total listening time I reckon it’s this:

    That album was pretty much the soundtrack to my life from 2006 -2009 I know every word. Which means that I’m somewhat chuffed that about 2 hours ago this arrived in the mail.

    And a very mery Christmas to you too!

    first album by six by seven, the things we make. one of those where its not instantly great, but every time you hear it theres something new in there.
    first saw them in a sheffield pub and it was one of those ‘hairs on the back of your neck’ moments, ive followed them ever since.

    Better than the first album, which is majestic. And not technically an album, but the opening screech of Hallelujah still has the hairs on my neck standing up, and always gets cranked up to 11…

    and these two belters

    Possibly this…

    But just because it was the only album we had for a long weekend trip to Wales in the late 1990s.

    Or more likely this, based more on merit…

    Some really, really excellent Albums above!

    I’ve rarely got the attention span for Albums, even before MP3 and now the streaming services sort of killed the concept of putting an album on and listening to it in order in it’s entirety I would usually play 3 or 4 of the tracks I liked and then move on to another CD.

    There are a few though.

    There’s a couple of others, but they’re ‘Best of’ compilations and I don’t really think they’re in the spirit of this – but Queen, Bob Marley, The Who and Dusty Springfield get a spin on my Apple Music quite a lot.

    There are some excellent truly albums here. I know what you’re saying about compilations, but I’m exempting Simons choice of New Order Substance from that as it doesn’t feel like a ‘Best of…’

    It actually sounds like a complete album in its own right

    I know its controversial, but I just think the Second Coming is betterer.
