you go through barber booth coming from manchester just before you get to edale, just as you come out of the tunnel. coming from sheffield, it is down to the main road from the station and then turn left. hope that helps.

eth3er, type barber booth into Google and have a look at the national trust.org page. It's got a copy of the route that i beleive we are taking as well.I'd hyper link it but don't know how!

I really enjoyed the first, snowy one.
The second one clashed with Thetford Winter Series, and now this one does too… Was it something I said/did? 😐
Only kidding, have a good one! 😀

    Hi guys,

Well I was up at Edale/Ladybower this weekend. On saturday I went for a run around Mam tor/Edale/Castleton. Well I can say that there is still snow there 😆 took me about 30mins to do a mile due to knee high snow, so I have up and turned around…

Today though i'd do on of the Ladybower loops on the bike, well went along teh bottom dam, and then around the edge on the res. Took me about an hour to get to Hagg Farm Road crossing!! Snow yet again was a right pain in the arse 😆

Anyway some photos of the offending snow:

It will all be gone by next weekend. If its not- Im still riding it. I rode yesterday in the rain/snow in Surrey. Nothing is stopping me.

It's been a lot warmer today and a lot of snow has cleared but there's still loads high up, the top of Jacob's ladder always holds onto the snow and ice much longer than any of the other bridlways as well. The forecast is for the temperature to drop back down to zero on tuesday and start snowing again on thursday and friday.

As much as I hope the snow will be gone, I somehow doubt it somewhat, especially the b.way skirting mam tor, it's like it was never there ..

    Blimey 😯

Wait and see if snow really does come on Wed/Thurs. If it does it'll just cancel out the thaws good work 🙁

    I'm still riding it.

That's the voice of an optimist or someone who wants a walk with a heavy and cumbersome walking stick 😆 I might bring a folding bike and put it in my rucsac

Seriously, there's a lot of snow still to shift but my fingers are crossed

    😆 Pook.

I will also still be riding. If the snow is still there and really bad, then be could always do Wharncliffe?

I suspect that if we were to do a Ladybower route the snow would be less…

we can see where we are come the end of the week. Not ideal I know but it may be a late change. Keep an eye on the now epic thread chaps

Worse case. If it really is as bad as the above pics we could always hit a trail centre in Wales etc?

will I have to ride. Its almost an alcoholic urge. Yesterday I was severely hungover and I dragged myself over Leith Hill etc in Surrey. I was still hungover AFTER the ride 😕

Ditto. Over the peak district. Nothing quite like falling into meltwater to make you realised how much you value your toes.

Wales is a bit far for me though I must admit.

Wharncliffe a good idea, only problem I think is that when I last went and it was really wet it was a bit of a quagmire. Needed urgent work doing there which I'm not sure has happened. Anyone ride it recently?

deffo still doing a ride of some sort. Think white peak or wharncliffe. Having said that what about dalby? Although would rather a natural ride.

wharncliffe will be a no go i should think. Too boggy. Little work has been done.

Even if we walk it- **** it. You dont know for definite until on the day what its going to be like. Plus it could turn out to be a stonker. Plus I was reading at the weekend that the BBC is planning on dropping the Metoffice for its forecasts as they have been found to be wildly inaccurate.
