Arse monkey who gets shirty when they don't like the opinions of others is the biggest arse monkey.
How can he not like your opinion? You haven't told anyone what it is.
edit: oh, and no, actually you are the bigger arse monkey
Yeah, but ignoring your creditors and getting your flying monkeys to [s]create interference[/s] get the thread closed for you gives you even more breathing space
Byeeeeee.... 😀
You haven't told anyone what it is
Exactly!
You've come on here and defended the undefendable, with personal half arsed 'he's alright Jack' reasoning.
There are many angry people here clearly owed, and clearly being ignored, yet you bandy your self-righteousness as if they are all wrong and you know something they don't.
If you dont have the perfect excuse then, frankly, Do one.
You haven't told anyone what it is
Agreed, but I wouldn't know whether he's in the middle of that process or not, which is why I refrain from commenting either way.
My opinion is that without the full facts to hand no-one, except those directly connected, can really comment difinitively. Someone like you Sam, who just pops up to stir the crap every now and then definitely shouldn't be here either, should you? but I'm glad you feel so passionate about something you're not directly involved in. 😛
Yeah, but ignoring your creditors and getting your flying monkeys to create interference for you gives you even more breathing space
Clearly you know nothing.
Flying monkeys and arse monkeys...
This thread has become a kind of dystopian David Attenborough nightmare.
My opinion is that without the full facts to hand no-one, except those directly connected, can really comment difinitively.
So you have the full facts and are able to form an opinion?
Someone like you Sam, who just pops up to stir the crap every now and then definitely shouldn't be here either, should you? but I'm glad you feel so passionate about something you're not directly involved in
Oh" but it seems you don't have the full facts on this
Yeah, but ignoring your creditors and getting your flying monkeys to create interference for you gives you even more breathing spaceClearly you know nothing.
No, I do. I've had creditors chasing in the past. I looked after me first. I ignored them, it gave me breathing space. Far from knowing nothing, I know rather more about this kind of situation than I would like.
It wouldn't be STW if we didn't all throw in our opinion without really knowing what's going on...
There's only one person who really knows what's going on in this situation, and he appears to have scarpered to France.
Ignore Don Simon guys, he's a wind-up merchant.
Edit: I'm sure I'm not the only one who's read these threads and raised an eyebrow at the excuses offered to these "customers".
Flying monkeys and arse monkeys...
Hang around for the flying arses, now that's a sight for sore eyes.
Thanks for your opinion Don.
Here's another opinion,
Unless he's being held at gun point by a psychopath, and for some strange reason is being physically forced not to communicate with people he owes substantial amounts of money to, then he's very much in the wrong.
My money, is metaphorically on the latter.
My money, literally, is cycling around France/Geneva/not my house.
My opinion is that without the full facts to hand no-one, except those directly connected, can really comment difinitively.
Surely there are people directly connected on this thread. They've sent money, and have no goods. The person who is too busy to refund is posting on twitter saying he's got free time to do training/marketing/whatever but isn't sorting people out. I don't have any axe to grind with iDave but it's hardly looking like he's doing a good job in providing people a reason to believe him.
1) Without reliable email, how do you know who's emailed you and when, and who received the emails you sent out?
2) I don't know the whole details of what went down, so I am not dropping hints and stuff, but if he did not have access to the money you paid it'd be hard to refund, wouldn't it?
3) He is not actually a con artist - I got a couple of plans from him last year. His organisation wasn't particularly good, needed a bit of time and a couple of prods to get it, but just a couple.
He could of course do more to sort it out, you've given me some ideas of ways to help.
i really don't get why he has apologists here.
Defend the indefensible.
If he hasn't got the money, he needs to provide the service. If he can't because his heads fallen off, he needs to tell people.
Hiding under a rock is a cowards trick. Man up.
Have to step out now as I've been warned off, be careful Molly.

If he can twitter, he can email. Whatever technological calamity has befallen him I'm afraid this one is patently bobbins.
Just sayin.
I'm struggling to see why anyone is defending his approach, and as molgrips has suggested, even when he's ok, he's piss poor.
Hope he's having a great time though.
molgrips - I see where you are coming from, but we can all sit here and think of possible reasons as to why he can't pay up, no matter how far fetched they are. The trouble is, those same reasonings would no doubt lead to not being able to leave the country/finance a lifestyle.
Communication, or lack of, is the key here. And if his reasons are 100% genuine, then communication may have saved his reputation.
If he can twitter, he can email. Whatever technological calamity has befallen him I'm afraid this one is patently bobbins.
precisely
...and given that even techno numptys like me can set up email accounts with gmail in 10 seconds, I find the 'email insn't working' excuses to be somewhat disingenous.
Also doesn't explain that even when people DID get hold of him and he promised to pay them back (less than 2 weeks ago), he failed to pay up. I'd been considering contacting him for a winter training plan but I'll go somewhere else.
Hopefully everyone will go elsewhere and he'll fall on his arse.
Only for Karma purposes, natch. It's the only way he'll learn.
If he can twitter, he can email.
Not necessarily. If you email me to an account to which I no longer have access, or someone else has hacked and is randomly deleting from, how am I going to know wtf is going on?
Anyway I am only speculating.
I'm not defending his approach, not at all - my opinion is that he is a disorganised and slightly useless businessman, much like me, who has faced a serious shitstorm. I am not sure I would manage much better in his shoes, but I am sure others might do better.
He's not a con artist or a deliberate piss-taker though, I believe that.
He's not a con artist or deliberate piss-taker though, I believe that.
He just appears to have accidentally piss taken for hundreds of pounds for months on end whilst tweeting about what a good time he's having on hols. Probably for the best he's not trying.
Crikey ... so many people being taken for a ride.
Why are people so prepare to take others for a ride I don't know but then people seem to get away with most things nowadays, so that's not a surprise that nothing can be done about it.
The only advice is never to trust anyone no matter how innocence they look ... human are bunch of creepy opportunistic maggots that deserve all they can get.
Not necessarily. If you email me to an account to which I no longer have access, or someone else has hacked and is randomly deleting from, how am I going to know wtf is going on?
Well he replied to some of the creditors with promises of payment
I'm no Sherlock but I reckon that's a fairly big clue he received the email
Do you have any other straws you want to clutch at?
looking at his twitter feed he was able to attend Mayhem last month. And fund a pretty good lifestyle it would seem. Is he based in France or the UK?
he could set up a gmail account and address people's issues here.
Not going to comment on iDave, I don't know him. However if he can twitter, he can come on here to put forward his side of the story.
On the hacked email. There are plenty IT types on here who can offer assistance in redirecting mail / repairing hacks etc. Samuri is about as good as it gets in IT security issues and is an all round good egg. Cougar seems pretty clued up too. I'd quite happily offer any advice I could but I'd consider myself very much behind the others I've mentioned.

That sounds good, how much should i send you?
Has anyone got a mint sauce keyring they can lend me for a bit?
That sounds good, how much should i send you?
No need for that, is there?
Keep a lookout for a similar service offered around different forums. Some people fall down and in the process try to disuade creditors by appealling to their sense of 'it could be you in that situation'.
Then they 'Phoenix' and move on. Uncomfortable, awkward to take in.
Sorry ANY communication including a Look I dont have the money fullstop but let me pay you off weekly would help. Cant email?

Dont disagree but it is also clear he is not prioritising sorting this out - if it is for plans that only requires some effort and time on his part not actual money. I can understand he does not have the money but he can communicate and he does have the time [ according to twitter] to remedy this and he has not.
Things happen and how you deal with them is how he should be judged. It would not be hard to contact the folk on here to sort this if he cared.
Everyone affected has been contacted and introduced to each other using an email address that is now 100% reliable. I'm deeply sorry for being a ****. All comments in the thread noted, many are fair, a few are well wide off the mark. Whilst this situation is hugely embarrassing and clearly unacceptable, it's in no way been the most difficult thing I've been trying to deal with in the last 6 months. I've never tried to gain business from STW, it's been my office banter since before it was STW. It makes no sense to deliberately bugger up an opportunity that came along - just think if I did a great job for a few on STW how the referrals would pour in. So, to intentionally do what appears to have been done would be utter madness both commercially and personally. Many users of STW are personal friends, it's insane to think I'd act like this in full view of people I see regularly unless other forces outside my control were at work. Which I hope makes a few of you realise I'm not a total douche bag. Though if anyone wants a mint sauce key-ring......
Deja vous?

Yeah, i've heard the Marmotte can be a bugger.
I can't help but think that if I was one of the unlucky people to have had any dealings with idave, I'd have made a point of finding out where he lived by now a gently persuaded my money back out of him........ Only my opinion though 😀
I would have gone down the Small Claims Court process yonks ago.
Frankly, your attitude to customers smacks of both arrogance and contempt - many people are dealing with difficult situations, it's called 'life'.

I'd have done that before handing any money over. 😉
Didnt IWH say he had money issues when pursued?
idave seriously just be straight with the people that you owe money to.
Just say you havent got it at the moment to give back. Stop the 'Ive contacted the people'.
Be honest. Come to repayment arrangement witha low amount each month for each.
IF you have been in France recently though, mate your bad. Regardless if you lost a house(guess) etc. These folk arent bankers etc.
In answer to the original question I would go down small claims court route
I had to do this when we were ripped off before our wedding. Mrs Sinatra purchased some bits for her wedding outfit (mail order) and we mistakenly paid by debit card. Cost was £250. Goods turned up, then a second payment was taken. Company went underground, couldn't contact them and before we could sort things with the bank, a third payment was taken.
Eventually went down small claims route. Filled in the forms, cycled down to Sheriff Court o and arrived in the right office slightly sweaty from the ride. The Clerk offered to check the forms for me. He skimmed through them then, in a room full of solicitors, staff and other members of the public said, in a very loud voice, 'So, your claim relates to your purchase of a ladies corset, in baby pink? I wouldn't have thought that was your best colour Sir...'
Anyway, the claim was settled very quickly without going to court
So, affected persons, have you received satisfaction now? Has this gentleman made good on his promises or is this less than genuine? Come on we want to know.
Personally don't see much sincerity in Dave's post above. Hopefully I'm wrong.
If I was one of those owed money , given a fresh 'guarantee' of a refund in say 7 days only to receive nothing, then I'd be the first to hammer his Twitter feed.
This thread may well be awesome for his reputation once Google catches up with it. Hopefully people will get their money back or their training plans and everyone will be happy.

Right, ok, so when am I getting my money back exactly?

Me too please Dave.
If anyone wants Dave's home address for court paperwork email me and I will send it to you.
You were on the email raindog. Will re-send.
Chin up Dave, There are plenty of us who know you're a good guy still.
My weight is still at the target I set myself when I started iDieting 14 months ago, so you must be doing something right.
must..refrain..
dave
you're the not the first person to bury their head in the sand when it started to go pear shaped, and you won't be the last.
i hope you get your head and your business past this.
to do that, i think you probably need help. try and get it.
I wish I hadn't started this thread.
I hope that Dave can get his life in order and repay everyone or find some solution. I have learned a lot from the idave diet and it has opened a doorway to lots of new knowledge for me as I have read a lot about diet and nutrition.
For those of us who are owed money/training plans. I don't see any benefit in trying to ruin the guy. There only likely outcome of succeeding is that you'll never get your money back.
Thanks Dave. I've now had the "group" email (I didn't get it the first time as Dave sent it to my work address and I've been off work for a week). I have no interest in "ruining" anyone, I just don't buy the excuses. As others have said communication was no problem until money had been handed over.
Was all this resolved?
Everyone affected has been contacted and introduced to each other using an email address that is now 100% reliable.
I've got the wrong end of the stick; it's not a fitness program it's a Dating service!
Lots of words from iDave in his post; little substance. I hope the mail shot had a payment plan in it, or you've been bummed.
Again.
Is this an offshoot of the scammer in the classified thread?.
Was all this resolved?
Surely you would know, having been one of the more vocal witch hunters on this thread, wouldn't you?

It's witch hunting to point out how unreasonably iDave appears to have treated (is treating) his STW customers? Who knew.

I wouldn't know, my friend, I haven't seen what's happening off forum. Interesting word 'appears', innit?
But good of you to have dug out a dying thread.

If he's done the right thing, then I'm sure people will be along shortly to say so.
*tumbleweed*
Surprised this thread is still going. He/his friends had another thread relating to this very subject closed within 20 mins earlier....

I hear you loud and clear but people aren't charities. Someone who scrapped together upto £200 to be told 'sorry all gone tits up mate you'll have to suck it up as lost' wouldn't be fair at all would it? Are the constant delays and reasons given designed to wear into said people who then feel 'bad' and think 'ok I'll let it go and chalk it upto experience'?
Its sad all-round however thats THEIR call not ours.
If he's done the right thing, then I'm sure people will be along shortly to say so.
I doubt that very much. Very few threads appear with positive messages, but the witch hunt threads seem to get a lot of attention.
Probably should read more into the fact that the complaining stopped, no?

Or the complaining stopped because the complainants got fed up of being ignored?
In any case, iDave has been on here himself, today, on the closed thread. It's unlikely that he wouldn't have mentioned a resolution had there actually been one.
I promise to post as soon as I get the training plan that I agreed to with him a couple of weeks ago.
Ok. We'll leave it for there for now. 🙂
like the thread this morning....
this will not result in a direct answer from any of the parties, this will not recieved comment from STW towers, this will be pulled and deleted.
in order to add "paying for training plans" to the list of topics that are 'banned' from STW, there will eventually have to be an explanation from somewhere.
Or they are waiting for the latest promises -give it sometime?
Maybe, so there was no need for an unconnected member to open a new thread on the subject or for this thread to be resurrected, was there?
It would appear to be being conducted behind closed doors, which is the correct thing in this case, IMVHO.
oddjob - as i said this morning, im looking forward to that thread and hope someone stickies it for a couple of days so i dont miss it.
Maybe, so there was no need for an unconnected member to open a new thread on the subject or for this thread to be resurrected, was there?
I'm not sure how this directly affects you, yet here you are.
Let's hope that iDave makes good on his latest promise.

I think the point here is - you seem to crop up on all the idave threads telling everyone it's not their business, yet seem impervious to your own advice.
where's renton when you need him?

Do I really? TBH, I get hacked off with any witch hunt STW judge and jury thread. People are too quick to jump to uninformed conclusions on many topics and have the attitude of guilty until proven innocent. That's my POV on most of this type of thread, not just the idave threads. I guess you're happier with the witch hunting and stake burning, each to their own.
where's renton when you need him?
Looking for his map to find his way back here. 😆
And you good self, what is your interest?
I don't have an interest. I am interested. People often comment on things they are interested in - it's how forums work. Did someone not tell you?
People are too quick to jump to uninformed conclusions on many topics
This thread is a month old.
My interest is in the greater good of this community, like it or not we are one.
No iDave hasn't scammed me but others have been.
iDave has apologised on here and promised refunds, yet none appear to have materialised.
People owed money by Dave (like oddjob) seem to be as in the dark as the rest of us.
Don, you pop up on here telling people to mind their own business. Isn't that a bit contradictory of you, as I don't believe its anything to do with you either. Either accept it or get off your high horse.

I tell those who are adding fuel to the fire to mind their own business as they are just shit stirring and add nothing positive, much like yourself. As ransos says eveyone is entitled to an opinion and mine is that you are innocent until proven guilty and that if you are simply a shit stirrer, you should stay away.
How is that a high horse? And how is that going against my own advice? Please read before making silly comments.
Is there any doubt of his 'guilt'? I don't think that's ever been contested by him has it? Guilt in the strictest sense; stuff paid for but not supplied.
