    Religious officials of any denomination are notoriously dry when cooked, hence the need for something moist to accompany the meal…

    I guess I’m just struggling with “I believe in god, but I can’t be arsed with all that religion business day to day.”

    I think that’s absolutley fine. Better that than to swell the numbers and political clout of an institution you don’t actually agree with. And IME quite a few religious types agree the church attending isn’t 100% neccessary.
