It goes up. But at least it immediately comes back down again. It’s not a very @weeksy choice but it’s a nice route nonetheless. I can’t do (waking hours at) weekends, unfortunately.

Ok.. just seen this is a Sunday, which could work but would involve me taking the turbo to my GF’s house!

    I’ve said a provisional yes… what do we reckon… 2 and a bit hours?

Hmm..weeksy… ping me an invite for tomorrow too please…

I’ve signed up to the DIRT ride at 11am.. the French route you did a few weeks ago… I MAY be able to make 10 as the GF is heading out for a few hours.. but if she’s not leaving till later, I’ll do the 11am one…
Or …. why don’t you ALL join the 11am group ride..?

@dangeourbrain please can you send me an invite to Sunday’s ride, it looks like it’ll be a bit damp in Surrey. I’m now following you on Zwift – I’m Southside Johnny.

    Thanks

Nice one Forge but you should have done 10 for the badge 🤣

So is there a ride tomorrow?

10 crossed my mind with an in head debate, then I thought it would be nice to have coffee to taper into the work day, so stopped at 8…. 🙂

sorry guys, tech issues i’m afraid.

Apoogies to Kirky for the ride 😀

Sorry folks but I’m going to have to cry off tomorrow – I don’t think this should cause any problems beyond there not being a beacon.

My ride this morning totally wiped me out and I had to cut it short in the end, 25k and it felt like I’d done 250.

Pretty sure it’s nothing to worry about in as much as all the symptoms are of a normal-for-me thing but this being 2020 I’m now waiting for test results before I can see the GP for my biannual prescription. If its what I expect I’ll be rubbish tomorrow and won’t be getting out of bed for a day or two anyhow.

    Ta,

It’ll be nowt I imagine. I get milder versions of the same thing a couple of times most years owing to some old head injuries, occasionally it d doesn’t clear as vs instead gets on my chest but this year I tick the “killer death virus” box it seems not the “sinusitis and mild bronchitis, repeat prescription one”. Ho hum.

don’t worry Weeksy after waiting a while longer after you were showing as only be 10 secs back. then doing just 90w across the bridge without you coming by I guessed something was up.

at least I had a fairly gentle ride so I’ve got sowmthing in my legs to do tomorrow mornings as well.

Well God knows what happened there. I accidentally hit “not yet” to join the meet up thinking it’d show up again and it never did 😕

Weather’s ok so I’ll go for an outdoor run instead.
    Enjoy all 🙂

I thought about joining but it was too early.

Good ride that, was tough on that Gravel Bike to the jungle, really energy zapping, glad I swapped over to the road bike at the end of the Jungle for the final road bit, will know for next time to use the Gravel on the Jungle and not on the way!

Neil helped pace the last 5 miles I’d have probably backed off without that so thanks for that 🙂

Thanks all that was my first Sunday Hills ride and it was painfully enjoyable. Hopefully I’ll be along to a few more this winter when the weather IRL is too nasty for Sunday MTB.

Good ride that…legs felt good today and it was a decent pace especially through the final flats.

    @Swavis
I’ve learnt never to say not yet to the blue box…evert time I do I never get it back…I just let it join.

Well that got a bit fruity towards the end:). I thought we’d stay away with Mark H drilling it. Good catch by the other 4 with less than 2km left I think? It was a good leg stretcher and another one ticked off the list.

Not sure comms were working fully. Twice everyone had stopped and I flew by so apologies for that. Spent too much time in no mans land today but a good workout.

Some 1.5-2.5 min PBs today on the short climb in Titans grove so was happy with that.

Thanks Phil for catching me back to oopnorth and peesbee for the flats. Phil went into beast mode and made up most of the 30 seconds gap on his own I think. I was just managing to hang on. Did the Diego flats reverse 30 seconds faster than the ttt on Thursday at lower average watts!

Edit: silly predictive text but going to leave it as I like the Diego flats!

Not sure what it would have taken to stay away from Phil, but I do know I don’t have it 😭. The guy is a beast. Think I finished ahead of him in the end but it was a hell of a catch. Will be forced to be sneakier in future I think 😀

No problem it was pleasure and it stopped me throwing in towel.

Now I know how the Thursday TTT works…just put Phil at the front and hold on!!🤣🤣
Was a good catch I was thinking it wouldn’t happen at first but we were flying and the last 15 seconds gap went very fast.

    @oopnorth lesson learnt 😉

Sounds like I missed a good finish 😁

Did a 10k pb run and then managed a family ride before the rain arrived so not a total disaster.

Sounds like fun was had, sorry I didn’t make it but I definitely needed the day off.
I’m not dying* which is a bonus and means the GP will talk to me tomorrow with luck.

*well no more so than expected anyhow.

Good to hear you’re not dying Brian! So we will see you on the virtual commute in the morning then?? 🤣🤣🤣

Not even sure I’m going to make the real commute as it stands!

what time do you boys do the virtual commute?

    robbo1234biking

@eskay. It is 6.45 tomorrow. Rubber band is on so stay as a group but can do what you want such as a workout etc

    oopnorth

Usually 6-45am. Not every day but if you want invites let us know and we will send them out when we have something on.

Sometimes it’s just a ride of anything from 30 mins to 1 hour and sometimes, like tomorrow, we are doing our own separate workouts but held together with the rubber band.

Recovery day tomorrow but maybe Tuesday if something is on (zwift user Simon Kelly stw etc). Thanks

    oopnorth

@eskay We don’t usually do a Tuesday morning at the moment with the STW race series being on a Tuesday night.

I’m already added to you you on zwift so will let you know if we do any other days this week, I will get an invite out.

Any ideas for Sunday Hills this week?

Of the circa 40km routes I have to tick off, the following look best for me: Surrey Hills (done it before but not on app for some reason), Three Sisters or Big Loop. Slightly longer ones: Bigger Loop or London Pretzel. Not that fussed if anyone else has an urge for another route though. Vertical M’s are more relevant for me at the minute as the Tron bike edges closer (92%)!

I’m happy to do a Saturday or a Sunday. Weather looks better for Sunday here.
