Tubeless tyre headaches

I’ve been running a set of 2.0″ mud tyres all winter on my Haven tubeless rims
Now things are drying out I thought it’d be time to dig out the 2.3s but I can’t get them to seat on the rims for love nor money!i’ve got Stan’s latex in and tried using a compressor to blast them on.
Any ideas would be welcome,i’d rather not put tubes back in.

Yes I have an idea. The Eastons are UST standard rims so you will find that some non tubeless standard tyres won’t fit tubeless on them.

So you probably want to try either some UST ones or some Tubeless Ready tyres. Otherwise they are unlikely to seal.

Warm the tyres and use warm soapy water.

I got around this headache last week by putting a couple of layers of electrical tape around the rim to get the bead that bit tighter, even managed it with a floor pump. Good luck!

CO2 canister always works for me if all else fails.

Think the issue is non UST tyres and UST rims. Tyres are too baggy and won’t fit well. Hence the suggestion of tape.

Shortcut is on the right lines I think.i’ve tried soapy water,co2 cannister,removing the valve,compressor on full tilt and the biggest track pump I could get my hands on

Had similar problems. I installed tyre with a tube,seat the on the rim.I then removed ONE bead and removed the tube/installed valve.
I found the tyre popped on easily then with just the one bead to seat.

These werr nobby nic TLR, strangely my previous non tubeless maxxis advantages went up no problem, strange?

just got my non t/less 29er rims and maxis beavers to seal using 26in. Tubes ghetto style with extra insulating tape underneath to pack out the rim to make tyres tight enough, took out valve core and used compressor.

In the event that tyres will not seat try these methods in order:
1. Put an extra layer of rimtape on.
2. Buy a Schwalbe or Conti BMX tube and cut it into a rimstrip-valve combo.
3. Go to poundstretchers and buy some foam adhesive tape and put a strip around the rim.
I like to get the tyre tight enough so that it requires a bit of effort with 2 tyre levers to get it on.

10 years tubeless, started with latex carpet adhesive, now use Stan’s milk.
