Lots of good stuff there. Can’t narrow it down to 10 but a couple to add

Led Zepplin – Led Zepplin II
John Lee Hooker – Mr Lucky
    Fleetwood Mac – Rumours

Thing is – do compilation albums count? If you missed someone first time round and you don’t really know their work, for me a good compilation is the way to go. All albums have some at best average stuff on that is best avoided.

Totally agree with you on that. As sometimes you cut out the mediocre songs which may put you off imho.

interesting how many of the albums ar from decades ago.
    is this
    1) a sign of how good the music was then
    2) a sign of how old we all are
    3) a sign of the poor taste we have?

Cant think of ten, but the top three I wouldnt be without are
    1. JR Cash at Folsom Prison (the complete unedited version, disagree with the line of thought that the Rick Rubin produced stuff is the best, it isnt even close to this piece of genius @ San Quinten is good but this is better).
2.Welcome to the Cruel World by Ben Harper.
    3. Trinity Sessions by The Cowboy Junkies.

I also wouldnt be without Hup by The Wonderstuff but an willing to accept that my be more due to the time and place where I grew up and what it meant to me at the time rather that musical genius.

IME experience people don’t move on.

There are some good albums here, but its such a personal thing, I’d never inflict my (ever changing) top ten on other people.
