Damn that was tough! Ballsed up the start & couldn’t quite hang onto a faster group so ended up soloing 95% of it 😭 flatter one next week please 😀

    I’d be lying if I said I didn’t try…

Urghh! Racing up that climb is not fun, I was TTing most of that race after we hit the climb…it was a case of just holding on especially when we got back into the town.
Thanks to Mr Abbott for helping me home on the final stretch.

Best time up the hill today, huge kudos to those who were getting up sub 20 mins

    God its sweaty in here!

Enjoyed that, the swear when the trainer crapped out, for what felt like forever on the climb may well mean I have to say sorry to the whole street.

I’m currently half way up for the second time. Not looking as fast this time!

@jamessoz i think I rode passed you while you were crapping, thought you had flat.

Tough race, hate that hill. Climbed with Southside Johnny, Mowlett and Garry Lager, we got into a relatively steady tempo, stayed together on downhill, leg snapper and all the way to the end. 278NP for me, 2 minute pb on big hill.

    Roll on next week.

You came past the group I was in at the start so I thought “oh, I’ll try and go with him…” and immediately regretted it.

After last week I decided against getting into a TTT scenario with little groups so basically wheelsucked onto the back of people then tried to attack. Although “attack” is way too strong a word to describe the slow motion style of riding I was using towards the end.

Eugh that was hard. spent the 1st part of the climb trying to keep with Oop and failing then the rest of it chasing the gap and battling with Ogg which I lost just at the top. Still a 3 minute PB on the climb ain’t bad.

Managed to break the group I descended with and picked up through town on Leg snapper which left a final 3K ITT to finish. Nearly puking by the finish. but hey 4 minute PB for the whole lap too.

That was ridiculously tough. Some great riding on display there. Some of you lot are absolute beasts! Knocked 4 1/2 minutes off my previous time on the climb so happy with that.

Came into town with Fordo, neither of us really wanted to do a turn so through my last effort in about a mile out. Gonna ache tomorrow…

I think I was 6th over the top of the hill with a time of 21.16 according to strava. Can’t be many folks that went under 20 min? Although I reckon one of the STW mods should be paying C Revell a visit to carry out a drugs test, as he appears to be an absolute beast.

4 minute improvement on the lap time, I’ll take that!

These STW races feel harder than normal zwift races!

I had a nice time, looking at the birds, admiring the hot air balloons and chatting the the food shopping delivery guy, don’t know why you all found it hard.

As endurance athletes at the top of our game, I take it that an isotonic recovery beer is perfectly acceptable?

I was looking forward to that. Even bought the SL7 frame and some jelly babies for the job. Clock hit zero, I’m spinning away but not moving. Zwift still had my cadence showing but power had dropped out. Oh well. See you next week.

Good race all – I managed to knock 7 minutes off my pr up the climb, really shouldn’t have gone for the sprint though 🤢.
Upped my power curve over 42-52 minutes.

Well that course isn’t fun, enjoyed the group ride though.
Cheers Weeksy for checking in on me and letting me draft for awhile.
Thanks Robbo for organising everything and waiting for me at the end.

That was hard, legs are feeling it now. Seemed to be pedalling in a small non-group on the ascent with Andeh Burgin, Savoyad and P Woods (to a lesser extent). Physics makes the climb hard for my weight, but at least my pies kicked in a bit on the descent, and ended up with P Woods from the leg snapper to the finish.

Thanks again to Robbo for organising.

Only a 17s improvement on hill PB, just missed breaking 19m, however I’m sure the previous effort involved drafting where this one was solo.

I think dr p is looking good for this week’s overall win.

Yeah cheers again for organising Robbo, you have created a fun event.

I still hate you though for choosing that course and climb! 🤣🤣

Cheers again for that robbo, and stupendous effort all.

I was dropped on a 10% descent because I stopped pedalling for 2 sec to reach for something??. Had to kill myself to chase back on to a couple of lads,

I think you just mistimed that, there is a tiny flat spot right about where we dropped you, given we were pedaling a bit I know I kicked up to about 400 for a few seconds and you just dropped off but then it’s a serious struggle to get back on.

Somehow Phil took 13 seconds out of the three of us on the descent. I was a smidge demoralised by that as I thought the three of us might put a few seconds into him and I might actually make the 15 second handicap up.

I was pulling a bit hard through town trying to keep the four of us rolling together and over did it, just didn’t have the kick for the leg snapper left so ended up about 10 seconds down on the three of you over the top, I knew I couldn’t pull it back from there and just had to fight the desire to soft pedal home after that.

Took 45 seconds off my pb up the climb,
Even took 1min off my time from the top to the finish which surprises me, honestly thought I lost at least as much as I’d made on the climb in the back half.

    Zero points!?
    Zero? Points?
    Points x 0?
    Am I hearing you right?

JHC I thought I’d done reasonably well on that given my handicap!

Thks for organising Rob – great event. Felt a little bit easier for me than last week, but I hadn’t done a zwift race for 6 weeks prior so maybe that was it. I was really tired beforehand but kicking the bare arse out of that climb has perked me up no end.

Can you get lag / latency effects on zwift? I went round in a very solid group – mossimus, J-R, mahowlett and I think ico86 who dropped on the descent. Sprint for the line and I was clearly ahead on my screen, but finished 4 secs behind J-R in the results!? I’ve never seen this before, how did it look on your screen @J-R?

Did notice on the climb that I was sitting in fine in the group on screen but it sometimes showed a 3 or 4 sec time gap on the rider list. So perhaps my wifi is bolloxed.

Thanks for organising Robbo, that was hard, luckily I will be at work by the time the commute starts.

    Looking forward to next week.

I’ve never ridden Innsbruck before. I really liked that course, thanks for choosing it Robbo.

The time gaps were a bit odd on the ascent – 5-6 second gaps showing when our “non group” (as @straightliner put it) were definitely all together. Zwift is weird sometimes.

    See you all next week!
