Mine arrives between 1500 and 1600 today.

Ironically(?) after waiting so long I had to cancel the delivery arranged for yesterday and re arrange it for today as I wasn’t about 😳

is the email from Singular or a third party?

I’ve got a delivery notice from ‘mywarehouse’ for today but no idea what it’s actually for…

Yep – the shipment notification from DPD/My Warehouse is from me. Annoyingly, they can’t seem to change it…

cheers Sam – I guessed they were a fulfillment company for someone but couldn’t work out what it might be 🙂

    [edit] and [hijack]

anyone in the Brighton area (or not) getting one of these and want to be one of a pair in the Fat Bike category at the Big Dog in August? Probably riding more for fun than to win but given there’s only two teams entered int his category currently we may well have a chance of that last podium spot.

The removable Cable guides are superb a lovely detail.. I’m wondering if additional ones are available in two Cable configuration for the chainstay for a hub gear?

just letting J R Weigle work his magic on the inside of the frame before breaking out the copperslip

Perhaps I’m being a little dim but which guides are needed to route a rear derailleur and a disc hose?

the removable guides come in two flavours 1 Cable and 3 Cables

a 2 Cable version would be v useful for fitting a Rohloff or Nuvinci 360 down the drive side seatstay (the 3 Cable guides would be fine but not quite as neat as a 2)

Two Cable guide would also be useful for under the top tube if running 1 X 9 or an Alfine 8

(the frame already comes with a set of guides which suite most scenario’s)

on the seatstay side it has a single clip type guide

Just back from my first ride!

Well worth the wait. Need to fine tune a few things but I think Sam achieved his goal which was “to provide a lively and fun bike for general trail riding”.

If they’re bolt on have a look at Liteville / Syntace – the ones on a 301 come in 1, 2 and 3 varieties and can all be bought separately. Best bet to source them is from Germany; such as Hibike

Only post I’ve got that’s long enough!

Saddle’s too low in that picture and I’m going to lose a couple of spacers.

Put mine on the previous page 🙂

    But here’s my second impressions

My only fat frame of reference is the Pugsley but in comparison the Puffin is more nimble. It felt that the Pugsley wanted to go in a straight line whereas the Puffin will go where it’s pointed. Took it through some twisty singletrack yesterday and was very surprised how easy it was, didn’t feel I was fighting the bike into the turns. Bit of a tendancy for the front end to lift when climbing the steep stuff, but that may well be down to my technique as I mostly ride singlespeed so am standing on those hills whereas the Puffin’s got gears so I could sit and spin. Very stable at speed, holding the line through the ruts and bumps, in fact the bikes probably more capable than me in that respect.

Got mine nearly rideable ( just the head badge to fit )
but no time to ride it at the moment.

And there is a large one on ebay too.
Oh wait I’ve bought it, though may have second thoughts when the missus finds out as I think she’ll notice this one. 🙂

i looked at that one from strada, plus the wheelset. the wheels looked like theyd be coming in at close to a grand with tyres etc!! that right for a set of fat wheels these days?? (they did look lovely tho) 🙂

i like the idea of a puffin, but if the wheels are biiig money then ill probably stick with my gryphon.
