I badly need them to release the next series of Ozark. Phenomenal tv and the only thing I’ve ever watched that many seasons of.

If anyone hasn’t seen it yet, I’ve got 2 bits of Advice, if you haven’t seen Breaking Bad, watch that first, I don’t think Better Call Saul stands alone, too much of it is built around Breaking Bad, the ‘cool’ references will pass you buy.

    Humbly disagree.

    I haven’t seen Breaking Bad…

BCS is great on it’s own. If it gets better because you’ve seen Breaking Bad that’s a bonus, but not a necessity.

Grrr. It did feel unusually abrupt for a season end.

The trouble with Ozark is that they’re all utterly unlikable people and if a Cartel hit squad decided to take out one or all of the lead characters I really couldn’t give a hoot. Breaking bad nailed it in the way that even in the very last episode after all the appalling things WW has done you catch yourself mentally cheering him on.

Ozark is ok, but it’s a bit derivative. Breaking Bad was very innovative when it came out. After the success of The Sopranos and Breaking Bad, everyone went silly on the tormented antihero thing and it very quickly became a cliche.

I’m watching the people vs OJ at the moment…

I think we’re meant to like Ruth, and sort of like Marty, Wendy not so much any more!

    Darlene is awesome, though.

I was quite keen for him to die for the last two series. More because he’d got boring than he was too naughty.

They had to make his opponents more and more evil just to try to keep the viewer a little bit on his side.

Saul / Jimmy is a much more satisfying antihero IMO.

Ozark – I agree with Thols2, derivative and sometimes a bit silly – I still watch it though.

    Ruth’s the goody.

If you haven’t seen The Americans, she was brilliant in that.

She’s the least unlikable 🙂 Currently binging on The Americans and it is excellent, I was worried the concept might get a bit tiresome eventually but season 4 nearly done and we’re hooked.

I don’t know if these have been done already, but I thoroughly enjoyed both the Lemmy and ZZ Top documentaries on Netflix. I’m not a big fan of our their music, although I do enjoy hearing them from time to time, but that really didn’t matter. The thing that stands out with both of them is their longevity and adaptability, that and the insight into what it is to be a rock god. I’ll happily watch either again. Definitely recommended.

Watched Coming 2 America on Prime last night. It was a very pleasant hour-and-a-half’s viewing.

Star-studded cast, pretty funny but mostly just charming in a 1980s Hollywood comedy kinda way.

On the subject of charming, really enjoying Call My Agent on Netflix ATM.

The Narcos Series are really good if anyone hasn’t seen them. They work best in subtitles. Tried a few in dubbed english, and it’s not the same.

Finished Tribes of Europa tonight. After a wobbly first episode it was bloody good.

The series settings partially filmed in old Soviet ruins are great. Give it the appearance of a higher budget production.

Above average storyline too. Definitely worth a watch for any SF/ sci-fi😉 fans.👍

Now heading into Motherland, very good so far and only a few minute in. The mum, metaphorically, throwing a random kid and her own faughter under the bus to excuse a brain fart is terrific.😁

Well that went a bit wrong. Watched the whole first series. Going to feel this later today. Also a bit gutted as that’s the end of it. Good could they not make a second series?

Then did a quick Google and there IS a series 2, it’s just not on netflux!

Muffin today is to stock up on enough caffeine to sustain me through another night.

Got to go out in the road now and pick up the dustbuns as the f****** fluxes have torn them to bits and the wind has had at them now.

It’s all good though, series 2 tonight.

Not sure if it’s already in this thread somewhere but.,..

    Wayne.

Watch a trailer and you’ll instantly know if it’s for you or not. It’s pretty fxxked up.

Been getting really into the new season of the F1 doc on Netflix.

Being an F1 driver doesn’t look like as much fun as you might expect, if they spend all their time fretting about beating their team mate or losing their job.

Just finished Narcos… brilliant series, Pablo Escobar, The Cali Cartel…. but the best is Series 3 – The Mexicans.

Fargo 10/10, one of the best series made

Probably been mentioned already, but just finished Godless on Netflix. Excellent TV. Just the right pace for a Sunday evening. Same creator/ director as The Queen’s Gambit. Western.

    Jings Poopscoop,had you been drinking? 🙂 🙂
I thought it was like some Goth,Nazi soft porn show, with some very cheesetastic acting.
One episode was more than enough. 😉
I will do a DezB and give a shout for Wayne (even if it is on Prime).
    Now there’s a show 🙂

Got one more episode of S2 of Snowpiercer, S2 has been even better than S1.  The main villan’s part (name kept out to avoid spoiler) is fantastically done, a proper piece of work.

Wayne’s proving enjoyable but the girl playing Delilah (a rebellious NY street kid?) is entirely unconvincing both in accent and mannerisms. OTOH More Tracey required please. Kickass, middle-aged, and slightly askew = entirely more convincing (at least in my headspace 😎)

Also we just finished watching ‘Behind Her Eyes’
Preposterous, darkly compelling vs fairly enjoyable if you stick with it. Best twist(ed) ending though. No spoilers here.

It was ok, but it felt like half a season – the big mysteries weren’t resolved and apparently there is no firm date for the next season.

Finally started watching The Americans last week after reccos on here.

First episode was great, then they’d removed it from Prime when I went to watch Ep2.

Meanwhile Brooklyn Nine-Nine S7 is now on Netflix UK and maintaining the usual high standard, even without the amazing Gina.

Halfway through season 3 😤 lot cheaper to buy the dvd box set than pay Amazon to stream it

Eh, it’s a Boston accent isn’t it? I thought she was good in it, a bit OTT in the quirkiness of some mannerisms etc. but that was all part of the charm – same for Wayne himself (and most of the characters really). Seemed to fizzle out a bit towards the end but glad I watched it (only noticed it thanks to another thread on here).

I’ve just started on The Irregulars on Netflix. Two episodes in but probably a bit too ‘Young Adult’ for me.
There is programming aimed at my age group. Indoor bowls mainly, but this is a real strain for me to stop calling everything stupid. And that is coming from someone who liked Wandavision.
Pro Tip: If you’re shouting at the tellybox then turn it off.

After watching pretty much everything I thought I’d go wayyyy back in time a rewatch startrek Voyager as I watched it 20 odd years ago when it came out….and apart from some very dated effects and set….and a few duff storylines I’ve really enjoyed it…all 7 series…it definitely gets better from season 4 onward with the removal of Kes and the introduction of 7. Might plough through DS9 next?

Sadly I paid for it on Prime and watched it at the start of the year. Got all excited when the notification arrived only to realise I’d already watched them all. 😟
