Who uses a compass and telescope? There aren’t that many famous ones to choose from…

ISTR the pink handbag being a red herring in previous iterations - I could easily be wrong though, I found it last night and quickly whipped up to 50 with the obvious ones.

The annoying one for me is the book of the tv series by a crusty old national treasure, only it isn’t…

Have you got it? unless I misunderstood, they made a bit of a mistake on that one!

No not yet...
There are a lot of clues that can lead you down the wrong path so I've gone through other names connected to it.
My thoughts are now moving towards other naturalists instead.

I think they might have fixed it - the original crusty old bloke's name has just worked!

The guinness clue is bugging me - neither the actual one or the actor one works...

28...all the ones I got I knew but about 8 I couldn't remember the name...like them all I suspect there are many clues eluding me as I'm just a bit thick and don't see the connection but I'll keep going back for more in case I have moments of clarity!
Addictive but annoying.

Re: Guinness - you are in the right place but the beer isn't spelled in quite the same way.

Yey, been waiting for this. Couldn't find any mention of it anywhere and nearly started a thread asking yesterday morning.
Anyway, I guess that's me finished being productive at work for the rest of the year.

Been dipping in and out all day and now up to 58. When is it appropriate to start sharing tips? I'm not sure I can see another 22 clues.

Currently on 59 and there are clearly a few obvious ones that I've missed. Any clues on the following (not necessarily the answers):
1 - Glass of milk
2 - Sale tag
3 - Bridle
4 - The drawing on the right hand side of the bar column
5 - Fox/M on beer tap
6 - Bird with blue breast
7 - Jack of spades
8 - Signature drink/blue
9 - French horn
10 - The duck
11 - Gold C/bee

Then I have some questions around what is and what isn't a clue/name:
- I have four of the beer labels on the column plus one on the hand pump - how many others do I need?
- Is the lamp on the column (beneath the hat) a clue?
- Is the seagull different to the crow or is it all one?
- Duck in cupboard above fruit machine?

Which still leaves me with 5+ to identify.

48 and struggling

can see some of the obvious clues but can work them out - the wasps nest, the honeycomb C, the st bernard, the duckling, telescope & compass, french horn, glass of milk, slaes tag - but can't get anywhere with them.

but that also means there 30+ ish clues that i'm not even seeing!

St Bernard is a famous kids movie and the same name as someone famous.
As above telescope and compass would be useful to which type of person? And then think of some of the most famous of those.

@sofaboy73 - I think it was better explained as a wasps nest.

I have the shark on the blackboard (and it's not a whale as I first thought).

Hopefully vague enough tips to keep it challenging;

It's not a duckling, think of another bird.
The bee and the big C are part of the same clue.
Ignore the nest, it's the wasps that will give you the answer
With the St. Bernard, think of a film.

I'm a stuck on the horses reins,
the ceiling painting,
The shark drawing,
The seagull,
Arrrghhh!

With the seagull it may be connected to the crow as the yellow dot sits where their tails meet. Or at least, I don't have anything extra for the seagull.

Oh, I have 2 separate ones for the crow and seagull. Yellow dot on each body. That must mean 3 clues between the two birds.

The small bird below the pub sign is a Red-Spotted Bluethroat.

This is of no help as the answer they are after is a very different bird. Bit weird.

French horn
wasps

bee / honeycomb C

I'm sure the beer labels on the wall are all clues as they are readable...but I can't get the connections.
The compass/telescope - I think this person was meant to be going east but ended up west...

Also Struggling with:

the other small bird
the maths symbols tour flyer by the birds
French horn
candle in fish bowl
glass of milk
USA graffiti
..plus...
umbrella
X above the seagul
seagul/crow joint clue
horse reins
pink handbag
roman emperor (?) next to horse reins
wooden duck + plate
sunflowers

can help with...

wasps - what do they do to you?
telescope & compass – big 15th century "discovery"
bee / honeycomb C - it's like an old fashioned dingbat in its logic. Don't focus on the honeycomb or colour of the C
sale tag - zoom right in and there is a mis-spell of their alter-ego
smoke by the light - rapper (I think)

Currently on 60/80

Maths symbols relates to a musician as does "smoke" by the light - it's not smoke.
Another name for USA and someone associated with that "title".
Explorers - keep going, it's a famous old one.

Less obvious ones:
There's a clue hidden in the glass panel at the top left of the photo.
There are two clues on the chalkboard top right and one in the wood panel immediately below
Wooden head in the bar next to the bridle (don't really thing that's less obvious)
Phone and post-it note are two clues
Bar snacks is one
