Nearly. Lucy Davis, Jasper Carrot’s daughter (best known for playing Dawn in The Office) played Hayley, Roy Tucker’s wife. She went off to Birmingham with their daughter Abbie after Roy got caught shagging Elizabeth at Loxfest.
An everyday story of country folk.
I don’t listen, but depending what time I’m driving home from work I often catch it. And Wednesday’s episode (Jim and Helen eating biscuits in the shop) – well, my car was a little bit dusty TBH.
Yeah, re-cast rather than writing him out of the Archers altogether. Robert always used to have a decent speaking part though so it’s strange to hear a different voice playing the role.
I’ve listened 100% during the car crash story and really enjoyed it (previously just dabbled now and again).
Now that’s over it seems the writing has gone downhill with lots of silly filler stories/twists (eg Fallon not being offered the unit when was interested in, the kitten’s name etc). Seems to me TA is great when there’s a meaty storyline (eg the Prof’s abuse) but goes to the other end of the quality spectrum otherwise, am I right?
I’m feeling like it’s lost it’s way a bit over the past few months. I listen to the omnibus on a Sunday morning and I often find it’s finished without me really noticing anything that’s gone on!
