mattjg, interesting how one article states racist and the police state it isn’t…so who is telling the truth?

Gotta love the Remoaners; even with their vastly superior intellect they get outmanoeuvred by the thick racist Brexiteers … oh the shame!!

Then even though its the Brexiteers who will suffer the most from the economic doomsday – the Remoaners are the ones most scared of it (even though they themselves will be ok in every worse case scenario anyways).

My understanding is the cops don’t believe the attack on the Pole was racist, but presumably due to a dispute and the shopkeeper was attacked for intervening not for his race.

And Aaron Banks 14 million quid, and the editors of the Mail, Sun, Express and Telegraph etc.

Fundamentally Leave used rhetoric and Remain used logic. For a lot of the voter base rhetoric trumps logic. It’s hard to beat “Take Back Control” with people not interested in analysis, even when it’s false.

And it’s obviously not true that all leave voters are racist, very few people have said that. It’s leaver self victimisation used by the people pulling the strings to create a sense of grudge.

Then even though its the Brexiteers who will suffer the most from the economic doomsday – the Remoaners are the ones most scared of it (even though they themselves will be ok in every worse case scenario anyways).

Not true we’re all going to suffer, especially our kids.

Aye well it was nigh on a perfect country before June last year, no crime of any type. Lions lay down with lambs, the country flowed with milk and honey, we were beating swords into plough shares, work was one day a week, beer fags n drugs were free and everyone loved each other. The poor were not being crapped on daily by the educated classes and the perpetual moaning machine was not yet invented.

The above is what an independent Yorkshire will be like. Honest.

Indeed we are living in strange times. In France a Jewish woman was murdered by a Muslim who subsequently has been linked to extremist views. Police said it’s not a hate crime. At a peace demonstration in her memory this weekend – the white march – masked men tried to disrupt it. Not hate crimes say the authorities.

No it had many problems. Almost none of which were caused by EU membership or will be remediated by leaving it.

That the thick outnumber the clever isn’t really anything to gloat about is it? It’s bad for all of us, probably worse for the thick though.

I didn’t think education was a class thing everyone can be in the educated classes if they choose to be – some like Bob just choose not to be.

The thick outnumber the clever? That’s assumed only if you are in the Remoaners camp I’d guess.
I do appreciate how you adhere to the stereotype though

Any evidence (like a real fact) the leaving is going to be good? Don’t bother with any ‘taking back control’ or 350million a week for the NHS, but a real, concrete benefit?

Remainers still moaning. Still trying to justify remaining in the EU. Still hurling insults. Still bitter. Poor them.

Do bears shit in the woods?

Whatever your view on Brexit, getting Yorkshire free of the rest of the UK is a priority. If we have our way at the Yorkshire Independance we’ll be out of the EU, UN, any other big letters with a U in, maybe even the Universe.

@jamby. I like to think my contribution is at the more intelligent and thoughtless end of the debate. Mind you some of the folks on here must be psychic as they seem to be able to tell us the future. A person on here even knows his kids future is knackered due to Brexit, if he could see into the future for that why have them kids.

So quit belly-aching and demand a referendum from Theresa May. If Nicola Sturgeon can do it, surely you can?

Or are we saying that people of Scotland have more determination than those of Yorkshire?

Not moaning at all, we’re pushing for what we think is best. That’s how democracy works, it didn’t stop on June 24th 2016.

A 16-17 vote, with the 16 homogenous and the 17 very splintered, is not a sound foundation. You know it.

You think this is in the bag. It’s not and that blind spot could well be the leave campaign’s undoing.

Is being Polish a race? It could ‘just’ be over a girl, for example, but equally could still be an anti-immigration hate crime, and the police are probably being careful in what they say while investigating that line.

The (brave) shopkeeper stepped in and his race had no bearing about him then being attacked for stepping in, ergo not racially motivated. That the attack then involved racial insults according to the witness doesn’t mean it was racially motivated, but (if true, and not sure why it wouldn’t be) it would seem that it was carried out by a bunch of racist scumbags.

Hopefully they are found and appropriately dealt with.

@oldnpastit Steady on lad. We aint remoaning, have you ever witnessed a person born of the county of York have right winge about anything? Well other than prices.

Our next step is to bring in outside consultants to help us get an indy referendum. We have two candidates, Mr Farage and a Ms Sturgeon. They both have been closely link to successful (one of them anyway) indy campaigns only one likes to get down the pub for a few pints. This candidate also has the added qualification of being opinionated and thick skinned, this will help in communication the Riddings. The other thing that separates them from the other candidate, they won.
Why have we not interviewed a Mr Salmond? We wanted someone who simple Yorkshire folk could trust when he spoke, failed that one. Also his racing tips are rubbish. Also he lost.

I’m declaring UDI for the People’s Republic of Surrey Hills.

We’ll be linked to London City State via the Esher corridor, so won’t be leaving the EU, and parking spaces at Walking Bottom will be for citizens only.

I don’t understand why the people of Yorkshire seem so content to live under the yoke of us southerners.

I think it must be because they are weak.

And yet the headline reads “not a racist crime”.

The headline is just wrong, they seem to have missed the difference between “racist” and “racially motivated”. If you attack someone because they spilled your pint then racially abuse them, it’s racist but not racially motivated. (headline writing often not done by the person who wrote the article)

That we are lad that we are. Those of us in the Free Yorkshire movement keep on trying to tell the good folk of this county that living of the tax of those wealthy hard working southerners is not right. They send us money pay for the YHS, buy our lamb, beef, peas and beer to humiliate us. They walk, climb n ride our trails, spend money int pubs. We hate this of course and cannot wait to be free but poorer. We’d sooner be poor masters than rich slaves.

Getting in to Yorkshire will be chargeable after we win vote if you are coming from the south.

As someone living with a German citizen here in the UK I can relate to every one of these stories.

    https://www.buzzfeed.com/emilydugan/these-europeans-are-already-leaving-the-uk-because-of-brexit?utm_term=.pnr3EylMb#.rv4Yw0ev7

We too are making our plans to leave. It may not be for a while as a farm is not the kind of business you can simply shut down overnight. But for all the reasons given by the people in that article we also have no great wish to remain here any longer than necessary.

It’s ok, immigrants will still be given visas to come here, don’t worry!

No-one on the Brexit side seems to have considered whether or not skilled EU migrants will actually *want* to come here any more.

@kimbers did you see my post about how UK Passport applications from French have doubled. IMO people won’t leave if they have decent work and will need a VISA to return. It’s a two way street. The UK is a very attractive place to live and work, our economy is so much more vibrant than the vast majority of the EU. Plus the language, people want to improve their English. It’s the gateway to better employment opportunites globally.

UK Passport applications from French have doubled

Didn’t see that post. Doubled from what number?

I’d guess that pre-Brexit there weren’t that many French folk looking to get UK passports, because FOM meant they didn’t need them?

So doesn’t seem very surprising there is an upsurge there. What will matter is how that compares to the number of people leaving.
