Liberal democrats joining the governmet will absolutely be off the table now.

Not sure that the DUP will be big fans of Farron.

Ruth Davidson actually quite conciliatory towards the SNP there, Pretty smart move from their point of view looking forward to cementing what there won.

The list of DUP concessions has already been leaked .

    Shouldn’t it be con-sash-ions?

I’ve been off line for a few hours, most disappointed to come back and find she hasn’t fallen on her sword or been pushed out.

The Rutherglen/HamiltonWest result is mental, labour actually went down by 500/1000, The SNP collapsed(relatively) and the tories went up 5000. Almost like 5000 SNP went to the tories, and the other 5000 SNP didn’t turn up.

If DUP and the torys cuddle up, might Sinn Féin decide to have a bash and send over their MP’s?

    Just a thought.

they might but their MPS wont say the pledge of allegiance to the Crown/monarch so wont get to vote

been done somewhere else but unlikely because to take a seat you have swear allegiance to the crown, and while strange things have happened……

So any comment from our resident tories about the shocking hypocrisy of May now leading a coalition propped up by extremist terrorist sympathisers after calling this election on the single issue of needing to improve her mandate for brexit? She can’t even bring herself to apologise or say she will listen to the electorate, just more of the same ‘I will form a government’, ‘stability’, ‘certainty’ bollox. She really is incapable of showing any humility isn’t she? The longer this goes on, the weaker they will get. If I were the tories right now I’d be lining up to tell her to go so they can limit the damage.

In a lot of the seats in Scotland it looks like there was a big swing direct from SNP to the Tories (in some cases leading to a Tory win and in other cases to either Labour or LibDem wins). It could be that it was votes that went from Labour to SNP in 2015 now going from SNP to the Tories but that would need some explaining. Older voters maybe, that are scared about too much change with Brexit already coming.

Yoonies all voting Tory and left-wing Nats going for Corbyn? Seems possible. In one of the Border seats, it was like all the LibDems had gone Tory.

Maybe my maths is faulty, but when you rule out the 13 under EVEL, you also rule out the SNP thereby increasing their majority for EVEL votes?

    going by that ruggie result.

SNP voters just didn’t turn up. And some went directly to the tories. Can’t understand it for the life of me. Labour vote didn’t budget and Ged only got in due to tory manouvering and SNP complancency(Might not be complacency, could well just be that indy supporters don’t want a 2nd ref right now. Or they were wanting to vote labour due to corbyn but couldn’t back dugdale).

I know I gave serious consideration to firstly voting labour, and secondly abstaining, I almost didn’t vote myself.

Dunno if that’s replicated nation wide.

Is everyone looking forward to Mays first PMQ’s where Corbyn inserts the words Strong and Stable into every sentence while she stands there with a face like Dot Cotton licking piss off a nettle? 😆

    😆

I’m curious to see if he’s actually been doing a proper rope a dope for last year in PMQs and comes out as an utter heavyweight next time! 😆

One things for sure, no one is taking him for a fool any more.

Going to be quite a reversal isn’t it. Labour MPs cheering Corbyn while the tories sit there grimacing at their lame-duck leader. That’s if she even makes it to a PMQs. There’s a fair bit that has to happen first. I still wouldn’t be surprised if they come to their senses in the next few days and send in the assassins.

The problem there is Corbyn is nicer than you and me, and doesn’t do personal attacks.

Does the gay hating DUP rule out Ruth Davidson for the new Tory leader?

wonder how she feels about May’s new chums?

She’ll feel whatever she’s told to feel about it. She didn’t seem to mind some of the nutjobs who bolstered their local election results a couple weeks ago.

Given that those mural artists don’t normally have to bother with anything except the eyes, something has gone badly adrift when it came to Arlene there. 🙂

Just supposing May does offer them the con-sash-ions they might ask for, can we expect the mural artists to start adding her in to their graffiti.

I’d do it in fast drying paint mind, the slow drying stuff’s a bitch to remove until it’s properly cured.

dazh – I suspect that mural’s been photoshopped. I think the brothers in arms mural was a UDA / Loyalist Volunteer Force one.

Not that it excuses the UDA / DUP links.

So, what this election really shows is that there is in fact no mandate for anybody

The Tories have thrown away a big majority.
Labour have lost. Celebrating “not being annihilated” is hardly a ringing endorsement of their Manifesto.
SNP receive a bloody nose over indyref2
LD fail to regain the middle ground and galvanise the Remain vote.
    UKIP disappear.

There was a good interview with Ken Clarke last night on the Beeb. He was hoping for a new era of concessionary politics, trying to get things done together.

It’s great that her campaign never even mentioned the Tory Party, now it’s the Conservative and Uiionist Party.

At this speed of backward looking revisionism will we be, by Sunday seeing her as head of the Conservative and Unionist Party of Great Britain and the Commonwealth and Colonies

Sadly, its real, and is an updated version of a mural that’s been around for a while in Lurgan.
