Dad, Daddy, Father, etc etc? Mine are teens but seem to stick with Daddy..
Dad or Daddy (occasionally Robert, when he thinks he's being a tough guy)
Nanny?
Dad (or occassionally Daddy if NemJnr forgets that he's all grown up (8) 🙂 )
Pappa here
Butt wad. It's a Wittertainment joke.
Missed csa payment?
"Guurr ffffnnnrree gguuurrr " at the moment, but he's only 2 months old so I'll let him off.
Probably 'dad' or 'daddy'. Eventually.
Mine are 6&8 both still call me daddy. Daughter (6) is the cheeky one and calls me dad or Adam from time to time!
Actually I do get pappa or pappy as well, again usually from the daughter...
grumpy
Dad or daddy. Friends kids (7 and 10) call them by their first names, which I think is a bit weird tbh.
They talk to me through the butler. He calls me sir.
If I say to my son "Hi <sons name>!" In an over the top, enthusiastic voice when I get back home, he sarcastically replies "Hi <my name>!!!"
He's three 😀
Last week I had to tell my three year old that I'm Daddy, not Dad, and certainly not Daaa-ad... 3 going on 13!
Daughter aged 12 and son aged 9 and both still call us Mummy and Daddy without any hint of embarrassment despite my daughter's friends finding it hilarious.
The eldest (21) calls me short arse - I'm 6'1.
Dad, Daddy, Chris, Mummy, Conker, Dada, Trumpy, Grampy....pretty much anything to be honest, but most I'm DaddyDadDadDad.
I like to be called daddy. Don't have any kids mind, I just like to be called daddy.
Our boys are (nearly) 6 + 12 , big lad called us mummy/daddy till he was about 9 little man started with mum/dad in the last 8-9 months (unless he's after something)
My boys are 17 and 19, they basically call me what they like unless they want something 😀
To be fair tho, I give as good as I get 😆
Dad and sometimes Old Man
fat head or old man from my son
a grunt or dad from my daughter, depending on wether she is tapping me up for some cash
22,14 and 10. Can range from daddy to dick, mood dependant 😮
'Father' by my son (14) said in an almost sarcastic way 🙄 Daughter (11) is currently going through a phase of calling me 'my friend'...dunno what that's all about 😕
always just been 'daddy' from both of them....they get more creative when it comes to naming our bikes and cars...
I called my dad 'daddy', and then 'dad' when I got older. Sometimes it's 'daddio' or 'father' if I'm being affectionate or silly, but generally it's 'dad'. I'm 36.
Plain old Dad in this house. To my face at least.
20 yr old daughter and it's Dad if she's addressing me directly unless it's in front of her friends, in which case it's Colin.
"the fat idiot"
When they where tiny dadda then daddy they are in their 20's its Dad
Dads for me. Or Long leggy Mac daddy. 5, 7 & 14
"Daddy" has been entirely ruined by young American women who also want to be choked and slapped in bed.
In the unlikely event of my having children, I am going to have to insist they call me "father" or "sir".
🙂
Just boring Dad mostly, Father Dearest if money is needed or inconvenience created.
Miserable old grump, which is a lie and enough to make anyone grumpy.
My kids have called me Dave as long as I can remember, the only time it worried me was when I took one of the girls to help me choose a ring as a present for the wife.
Dad or daddy normally. Daddio if they are looking to be funny and take the mick. That or my youngest calls me 'Sir' in a really gruff adult-sounding for comic effect. Daughter used to sometimes call me my name but that stopped as I didn't pay it any attention.
At work she calls me Mr. Quirrel, although sometimes she slips and calls me Dad
At home she calls me Dad or quite often Mr. Paul, which is the name of her teacher, who is stick thin, with a beard and doesn't look like me.
I'm still dadda, but he's only two.
He's started calling my other half mum though, which she hates. She still wants to be mamma,
All my four call me Daddy the oldest being 15. I sometimes get called Daddy by visiting friends of theirs who can't speak English and don't know what the word means which feels a bit odd.
Pater or sir are the only acceptable forms of address at BigJohn Towers.
Cocknose and Thistledick are now banned.
Dad.
But I hear it as 'The Man'.
Normally Dad or Daddy, but middle daughter has taken to calling me "Father" in a jokey kind of way to which I respond, "Yes dearest daughter."
If in the presence of my girlfriends kids who call me by my first name, they sometimes follow suit and call me "Pete".
Dad from my two and sometimes papa from my daughter (11)
Daddy, mine is 8 1/2
Mine call me "Can I...."
At least, that's what it feels like
My kids have called me Dave as long as I can remember, the only time it worried me was when I took one of the girls to help me choose a ring as a present for the wife.
wasnt expecting to see another 'dave' dad on this thread. my two lads have called me dave (it is actually my name, not a fools and horses thing) for as long as i remember. not quite as embarrassing as a daughter calling you it in the shops i spose, it just used to make me thing people thought i was a stepdad or somethings.
friends and family used to look at them a bit strange and give them the old "why are you calling your dad dave??" thing but everyones used to it now.
now theyre adults i spose it doesnt seem as strange, i could be their 'mate' but yeah its always been dave and i quite like it actually, bit different.
My daughters 6 and she already refers to me as "cash machine"
Daddy, dad, dadda or Steve if they're feeling extra cheeky. 4&1/2 and 2&1/2 yr old boys. The bebe just smiles and gurgles, but he's only 3&1/2 months
Kids are 5, 7 and 12 and names vary from the usual Dad to father from the oldest and smelly pants etc. when messing around.
Kids 22, 21 and 18 - all call me Dad and always have.
Not my kids, as that's not happening for another 12(ish) days, but my parents didn't want to be called mum and dad, and after about 10 I didn't really want to call them mummy and daddy, mother/father or mater/pater seems so formal, first names just a bit weird, so settled on madre/padre, which I still use, and I'm 30 now.
6 & 9 "Daddy" for now.
I call my father by his first name, and have done since I was about 17. And I refer to him has "Father". But then Im in my 40s and he's in his 70s. "Daddy" would sound weird yelled across the pub.
10 and 14. Still Daddy 🙂
When he was younger it was Daddy-Dom, now it's grunt. Unless he wants me to buy him something, then it's Dad.
Respected Father.
Dad.
There are very few things, that will beat that first time you hear them shouting for you at a race finish.
Dad, Daddy, Daddo, Dave, Dummy and occasionally Father in the style of Daniel Simonssen from Vic and Bob's House of Fools
(7 and 4)
Dad or Daddy.
Has taken to calling me 'darling' when i tuck him in bed on a night for some reason.
Dad, Daddy, Papa at various ages. And I seem to have accidentally trained them to say "Daddy's a God" when I do stuff which surprises and impresses them. They seem to be impressed easily, so my wife is not happy about this development.
12 and 10, and still call me Daddy. Because I am the.....
Youngest calls me farzcher (can't type it how it's pronounced, i think it's an Austin Powers derived sort of teutonic sound)
And probably lots of other things when I'm out of earshot
2 and 5, daddy or dad.
Or, if I post OT in the bike forum, "a ****ing idiot"
Tatty (2)
*blows raspberry* (5 months)
I was always daddy but now she's 7 I have become dad. I actually prefer dad, it makes me smile every time she says it.
Papa, they're half French but it's the only French word that they use regularly
I expressed a preference to be called Sir, but it never caught on for some reason 🙁 so it's always been Dad, at least within earshot !!
Chief Cheb or Geeza. Sometimes Dad.
From a 32 yr old & a 29 yr old.
Uncle Martin.
My name isn't Martin. I am not their uncle.
Youngest daughter who is nearly 11 calls me Daddy, and my eldest daughter who is 22 ... says I hate you ! feelings mutual princess !
I'm 20, call mine dad or if he's ignoring me colin, so he responds thinking it's my mum
7 year old daughter has strict rules for me - if she calls me Dad, I have to answer yes, If she calls me Daddy, I answer yessy and if she calls me Dadda, I answer Yessa.
3 year old son calls me DaddaDaddaDaddaDaddaDaddaDadda and hides very badly without stopping shouting and giggling.
Fun times.
16 and 9 always been dad and mam
Called my parents mam and dad, but my sister(49) now calls mam, mum which I find strange. Started about 10 years ago?
Well I don't have kids but if I did I would insist on "Your Lordship".
Kids are 4,6,8 & 10 and there's no fixed rules for any of them so anything from Dad, Daddy, Dada and on the odd occasion papa or Dave
With mine it's always been Dad and they're now 20 and 25.
ba ba!
Fam
Mine generally daddy, sometimes dad, occasionally pops. If they have been bad I insist on Father
I got my young 'un calling her mother 'Mater' to wind up the missus. She's retaliated by telling little breathe what the German for father is, so I get called Farty now. 😆
Sheldon
16yo (soon 17) still insists on Daddy and Mummy, merrily in front of all of his mates and girlfriend. When asked whether he is self conscious about it he says "that's just what you're called, it's no big deal to anyone." Given he is 6ft1 and I'm a meagre 5ft8 and he's physically superior to me in just about every way, I'm not arguing 🙂
Helps that he has 8, 11 and 14 year old brothers too who are still in the daddy mindset (though I can see at least one of them wanting to change up to dad so they fit in with their friends - as I did aged about 14. I can still remember asking parent's permission to move away from the "childish" mummy and daddy that I used up to that point).
Not a father but I call mine "Dad" or "Old Man" occasionally. Although, as my nieces calls him "Gramps" I have occasionally used this too.
My Girlfriend has always called her parents by their first name. The explanation was when you are in a park or whatever all kids are shouting mummy or daddy but if you hear your name it draws your attention quicker. Which is true, ever been in a crowded pub and hear your name muttered? it is like an extra sense. 🙂
