Chipps – 'fancy dress' yeah well, call it what you will! 😉 I remember in the autumn, he was showing us around the Q's over a weekend, on the second morning he turns up, with fancy camera and proceeded to show us the pics from a party the night before – he was wearing GOLD HOTPANTS ONLY in all of them! (I don't think we'll be able to embarrass him somehow)
As a lot of the posts on here I don't know the fella but seeing his name on lots of threads and no doubt chatted at some point over the years I still feel worried about the fact no one has heard anything. Not sure what to say really but felt I had to type something.
I've only just seen this. I've never met him, but he always seems like a great bloke, he was lovely to me when we had to cancel our planned trip down to the Qs.
I've also been following this since Sunday. Met sharki on one of the quantocks group rides last year (and quite a few other nice people). He guided 'advanced/fast' group i was in that day and chatted to him about riding etc and he came across as a sound bloke so was shocked when i read he'd gone missing.
Really hope this turns out okay and he's doing some mad coastal walk.
Apparently he was in the Royal Oak in Porlock over the w/end..
Lets hope the daft bugger's just enjoying his own company a bit too much and just "forgotten the time" !
Good vibes you Skinny little weazel..
It's just been pointed out to me in this weeks Bridgwater Mercury, that Shane Roger Austin, 38 from Cannington was banned from driving for 36 months, last week, could this explain some things?
Clearly no one really knows him all that well, or at least a certain part of him. His online and 'out riding' life is one thing and his personal life is just that.
MM – whatever mistakes someone's made in the past there's no need to gloat when they've been missing for several days and their friends are concerned for their welfare. Hope you get the chance to say this to his face one day, preferably just after he's generously given you a great tour of the Qs.
MountainMutant – because he's our friend and he may be in trouble. That superceedes your indignation.
If you've nothing positive to say, there are other threads on here where you can go and argue. Go try those.
MM "hurt someone in his actions" Try not to jump to conclusions.
"All fines for criminal offences will carry an additional "victims surcharge" of £15, the Home Office has announced.
The levy will be added on top of every fine handed out in court for a criminal offence from 1 April.
It will be paid into a fund aimed at helping improve services for victims of crime, and will be fixed at a flat rate regardless of the size of the fine."
Although drink drivers really annoy me I try not to judge and it does seem possible he is regretting his actions. Hope he turns up safe.
Known Sharki for quite a while and he get's zero sympathy from me about drinkig and driving.
However, regarding the guy who is so gracious and courteous to others, selfless most of the time, was great with my kids and even once jet washed my wife , I just want him to turn up safe and well.
If you listen to some of these comments, you'd think drink driving was OK if its someone you know
I guess everyone being so pious about him possibly having been convicted for DD has never driven the morning after a session. Go and start your own petulant thread on the issue if it irks you so much!
I assume if has gone to Spain that it would flag up?
I also assume that as he can't drive he can't work or get to his kids?
And was he deffo seen having a few on Saturday?
I'm staggered that you can fall off the radar like this.
Is there a chance that the attention this is drawing could drive him further underground?
Edit:
I like to think he is having a 'Oh **** how do I explain this moment' before he re appears.
