thats the first place I went , the police also searched the area. I have been out on the coast path asking passers by if they have seen him and had a possible sighting at Webbers post(exmoor) . The search on the Qs has pretty much petered out police wise. The devonshire police will take over the search along the coast path and are already looking in that area.
Fingers crossed Sharki will surface soon.
The police didnt need our help today on the Qs but if you out and about keep your eyes peeled please.
I left the Q's at 13:00 and saw a lot of mountain bikers/ walkers out and about but no police so assume that they are looking elsewhere? I see from above that he may of moved to another area. I was cycling alone in the bright orange jacket just in-case I passed any of you
Sat on half term half a country away next to a heavily pregnant wife wishing I could do something to help after reading this. Good luck and don't be too harsh on him when you catch up with him 🙂
Heh..I've invited her to the FB group and asked her to send it on to all the locals she knows..Teetosugars is on holiday in Cornwall and keeping an eye out!
Excellent! Well the above link is where he could well be walking no one would put it past him trying the whole thing. At the moment it seems a starting point.
His mum is still waiting for him in the carpark where his car was left.
Houns… tell her to head up the coast path, if the winds in the right direction he'll sniff her out in seconds!
This thread is too serious to make me laugh, but now Houns has mentioned a cute blonde I'm hoping Sharki will log in to get details.
Had hoped this was a wind up on his part, go missing on Good Friday and resurrect himself on Easter Monday. You're leaving it a bit late Sharki. Hope you're OK somewhere.
Ha… Bagpuss we're using the humour to keep high spirits! We all decided he was watching us yesterday wondering what all the fuss was about! Wouldnt put it passed him…
If it wasnt his weekend for the kids and his phone rang out i'd have no concerns, i'd assume he was just out and about. But as he didnt pick up the little uns and his phone is off its very unlike him.
I don't know him well so not familiar with his habits. But do you think it is odd that he left his car parked at the great bear? And for some time since it seems to have been vandalised.
Please turn up shane we will buy you a large supply of cake.
I'm hoping he's out laying the worlds biggest easter egg trail, so the next time we go biking on the Q's there will be a choccie break every 3 miles or so. Come back soon dude.
Just got back from Looe in South Cornwall but didn't see him on that stretch of the coast path. He's probably speed marched through that section already and is well into Dorset 😉
Seriously though, here's hoping for some good news soon so we can all relax. Very anxious time for all his family. Hope they can remain positive & hope they meet back up with Shane soon.
Going back to the Bristol connection, does Sharki have a tent? a purple one has pitched up beside one of the more off beat trails in Leigh Woods, I had a look in, no one there just a green sleeping bag.
was up there today riding,i see the police have put up a poster at lydeard hill car park that his is missing, saw a police van up at crowcombe car park to this arvo, has anybody heard any more news??
Just seen this post – nothing useful to add as I don't live in the area, but I just wanted to say that I hope he's OK as he's a fantastic chap who was incredibly generous and helpful when I was coming down to ride in the Quantocks.
By the sound of things, hopefully he's out there walking away in his own world without realising that anyone is worrying.
if shane's doing the coastal work it might be worth locals on here (if there are any) popping into their bearby pub to let them know he's missing as he's bound to turn up at one at some point. hopefully the pubs will then pass the message on.
Any chance of someone making up an A4 poster we can print out to distribute around local pubs?
I'm in Weymouth and more than happy to get them around the town.
