What sort of wine do you want? Cheap quaffage, mid-range enjoyage or splurge it all and buy some en primeur good shizzle?

Well yes! I could happily recommend a nice deal for some cheap rubbish. I believe Tesco sells wine! 🙂 *Edit – Klunk beat me to it!

Equally, I could recommend a rather nice Montée de Tonnerre, 1er Domaine.

    😉

just had an offer in from naked wines with my latest amazon order, might go look them up. I always assume though offers are garbage.

Definitely look at naked wines. We bought about 15 bottles recently and it worked out about £1.70 odd per bottle. No pigs either!

    You reckon?
For the OP Tesco has some reasonable half price deals at the moment.

CFH was it you that posted a picture of a case of Mouton Rothschild up a while back?

What sort of wine? Just some low to mid range mid week glug will suffice. The 25% off at Sainsburys sounds hopeful, althought about 90% of supermarket ‘deals’ are meaningless.

If only it was still a case! I have six bottles of this remaining.

The next bottle will be drunk within a month or so. Something to celebrate!

On Naked wines I was getting under £10/bottle for £15-20/bottles on the normal deals. In the specials I was getting some very cheap stuff.

Read the T&C’s cashback was only available if you put £25/month into your account – worked like a wine savings for me just spending it and the cashback on a case or 2 every few months.

You can check out their range before you sign up.

    Miles ahead of Tesco 🙂

When/where did you by it? Anyone on here a member of the wine society?

I inherited a rather well stocked cellar, Tom. So, I can’t say I bought any of it! There’s enough good stuff left to keep me going for years, but for everyday, Berry Bros Good Ordinary Claret FTW!

Wine Society is supposed to be pretty good according a friend who likes his wine – he drinks mainly French wine so I presume that is a strength for them.

I can freely admit that I know bog all about wine so I’ve been letting Laithwaites do the choosing for several years now. I’ve no idea how they compare on price either but it always tastes nice and supermarket wine tastes cack by comparison.

Used for fining aka clarifying, some producers used fish eggs as well.

IME, the quality of £5 Aldi wines is far, far better than you get in the main supermarkets.

    Real Wine Company[/url]

The guy who runs it used to be wine buyer for Safeway. He’s an all round nice chap and he knows his wines.

In my blind tastings his Louis Fabre Sauvignon Blanc cames out ahead of much more expensive bottles (showing I’ve got cheap tastes I suppose).
