Apart from the terrible name, anyone know much about this?

    .

Cable stays stationary on the body of the post which looks tidy

300 Dollars or Euros, would imagine the same in Sterling.

Two-way locking, wow, you mean just like every other post out there, way to innovate CB.

Probably comes in nice packaging, quality of product will be poor but warranty back up will be good to compensate this…

one would hope it’s a proper comeback after the Joplin.

“the eggbeater of the seatpost world”
    Is that a good thing?

Looks like some nice design features though – if only there was a 27.2 version 🙁

One, the cable position is where it should be, two, it’s CB so It’s a question of when, not if it breaks. Of course that’s compounded by the fact that It’s a product which is renowned for failing. Doesn’t look good I’d say. Plus, no 27.2mm

Being Crank Bros is a ‘Kronolog’ the trauma your brain will suffer as you try to comprehend how something so beautiful won’t return to posistion?

I would not leave anything made by crank bothers within 2 miles of my arse.

crank bros aren’t alone in making dropper posts that have poor reliability though are they?

It’ll probably fall apart after a few rides.

    anyone know much about this?

It’ll be really expensive and really unreliable? However, it will come in very nice packaging.

That’s what I said. Dropper posts fail and CB kit fails. So that item is fail squared!

Putting the cable at the bottom and static really makes sense. I must be one of the only people with a pretty good record with CB components. Owned 6 pairs of pedals and only one pair failed – shimano (and look) have not had a better track record for me.

Some of the features are interesting but given the brand I wouldn’t buy one until it’s been out for a year or two at least and either it’s foibles have been sorted, or are well publicised enough to persuade me to keep away from it. 🙂

I love my Joplin. When new seals/guide blocks are needed, 2Pure bang them in the post FOC. If that wouldn’t persuade me to deal with CB/2Pure again and again, nothing would.

Remember, the Joplin is an old design. Maverick first made them I’m guessing about 5 or 6 years ago maybe. Loads of droppers by other companies have come out since and from what I’ve read, they all, universally, suffer problems of varying degrees.

The stantion of the post is not round, like all the previous dropper posts.
This will be harder to seal, but will prevent the saddle from moving side to side (in theory)

It also uses a mechanical system rather than hydraulics, which again should be more reliable.

Should be a winner- after all we learn from our mistakes and CB have made pretty much all the mistakes there are to make when it comes to seatposts.

that pic reminds me of an F clamp. Very different to current designs. Think the first reply at the top was a bit unjustified without actually knowing anything about the post.
