26/1 with the bookies at the moment. Stick a couple of quid on it

Having never been near a bookies or a betting website in my life, what’s the best (easiest) way of doing that?

Who’s taken Friday off so that they can stay up and watch the results come in? Fess up… who’s as sad and tragic as me?

This could prove to be deeply ironic. I am off on Friday as it is the 10th day of my 9 day fortnight. Whether I stay up may depend on the results from the exit polls at 10pm on Thursday and how many beers I sink to drown my sorrows.

Any bookies will have an app. Watch any sporting event and you’ll be advertised about 900 different app options.

    Its terrifyingly easy

    Remember… when the fun stops… stop 😉

People don’t realise that 100 or so years ago – it was normal to work 7 days a week!

We should be working less and enjoying the benefits of productivity.

    Exit polls at 10pm

I was planning a night ride , but weather looks from

    May do it anyway

Next day is work Xmas lunch, which will I suspect be a commiseration as much as a celebration, I’m sure we’ll raise a toast to ‘fk borris’ tho.

Considering a tenner on a labour minority tho !

7.00 Vote with Labour Border Terrier at my side. Drop GF train-station

8:00 Bit of helping out at the local Labour Party – maybe driving people to the polling stations.

9:30 Go to Brexit coffee shop to tell the owner he’s confused about free broadband again.

10:00 Then to work for a bit. (work for myself but mainly on twitter.)

18:00 Election meal out. Maybe a medium-red steak. Certainly not bleu though.

20:00 Settle down with the telly flipping between channels/twitter/here.

22:00 Exit Poll time – make or break. See if Dr Moderate is correct!

22:15 Give or take a stuffing from Binners depending on result.

    22:30 Cup of Coffee

23:30 Laugh at Buckethead and watch those early fast results come in. Watch the TV pundits over-analyse the first results and try to predict things. It’s early days yet. Back to the studio or community centre guff.

    23:45 Cheese and biscuits.

    12:00 A brandy or two.

01:00 Go over to pistonheads to watch all the people who are leaving the country sound-off. Check to see if Katie Hopkins is booked on a plane yet.

02:00 Bed for a bit – but awake checking Twitter all night. (Indigestion – nervous election toilet trips with phone.)

06:00 Get up – be happy or deflated.

Sounds like a reasonable agenda Rone.

This has just been on the Guardian website about Raab. Given how bloody-minded we are as a nation, please, please let this encourage voters in his constituency to boot him out

Losing candidates standing in Dominic Raab’s former constituency may not be invited to deliver speeches after the declaration as council officials try to manage overwhelming interest from the world’s media and the public.

The electoral authorities overseeing the count for Esher and Walton have said they will only guarantee that the winner will be able to address the crowd assembled at the count. An Elmbridge Borough Council spokesperson said: “If the winning candidate would like to make a short speech, following the result declaration, that is fine.”

This decision represents a U-turn, sources close to candidates say. The returning officer’s staff had initially warned on Tuesday that they would break with convention and stop any statements from a stage at the count at Sandown Racecourse.

Raab is one of the big names who could be unseated in Thursday’s election, and provide Friday with a so-called ‘Portillo moment”, according to new analysis by YouGov released on Tuesday.

I am in a Labour stronghold with majority over 11,000 🤔

    Very hard to challenge that.

@Cougar just google “bet on general election” and you’ll get loads of options. As a first time better you’ll probably have offers such as “bet £10 and get £20 free bets”

Wish this had come out a few days ago; Labour could have used it.
    https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/brexit-delay-boris-johnson-deal-general-election-eu-barnier-leak-deadline-a9242346.html

Having said that they have failed to make much reference to johnson’s lie about securing ‘great’ trade deals of any kind by end of next year.
They are handed opportunities but fail to capitalise on them; it’s almost as if they don’t really want to win.

I’m hoping (against hope?) that the collective madness that has afflicted the world recently (Trump, Brexit) is going to take the day off tomorrow and allow some sense to shine through.  Not sure I can take another let down, Friday could be a bad day indeed 🙁

Johnson’s election plan is to lie about how easy Brexit will be, and that it’ll be beneficial. Corbyn’s election plan is to try and pretend Brexit doesn’t matter, and that it’s irrelevant whether it happens or not. The Conservative manifesto ignores the cost of “getting Brexit done” over the next 5 years, and Labour’s grey book makes no mention of the difference in tax revenue expected based on different referendum results. How do you capitalise on Johnson’s nonsense without having a clear idea to put forward of what will happen as regards his core message if you are elected instead.

Working Friday night shift instead of day, plan is to go for a night ride* and get back in and showered ready for the results coming in about 1am onwards. The question is how many more calories will I eat in biscuits/chocs etc than I burned on the ride 🤣

    * weather dependant. If it’s shit out I’ll go to the gym instead.

Tory minority government is my prediction.

    Prediction?.

The dream ticket, Nicola and Jeremy, annoys the **** out the gammoners, Scottish Labour distraught, jackson carlaw apopletic, indyref 2 delivered, we get the hell out of dodge after finally growing a pair of baws and voting yes, and the cherry on the cake?.

That smug arsehole swinson loses her seat.

Anything other than a Tory majority would be good, although I wouldn’t want a Labour majority either.

For me it’s nose holding time and vote Labour, anything the mad socialists could do in power can be undone again (plus they’ll probably find most of what they plan to do can’t be done), Brexit however is forever not just Christmas.

Was going to vote Lib Dem but looking at the 2017 results for my constituency that would be pointless, Cons 25000, Lab 22000, LD 1500, there’s a chance we can kick out the Jake Berry slime ball but only through a Labour win. I am not happy.

On the plus side the weather looks truly foul here tomorrow so that’ll keep some of the blue rinse gammons home.

Prediction? Tory minority gov; no support from any other party unless major changes to WA; DUP to carry a grudge – refuse to support tories irrespective of any changes to WA and size of bribe.
If I’m right, johnson to go in 3 months and Corbyn won’t be far behind.

How come people are commenting on Postal Votes now?
How come postal votes are even allowed to be counted until tomorrow night?
Apparently Dominic Raab knows and has hinted and Laura Kuenssberg has reported exactly what she’s been told to say by Tory HQ in the usual manner!

Prediction – Tories have exactly the same number of seats as before and the whole GE is proven to be a complete and utter waste of time.

Apparently, PVs are opened and checked prior to counting. The parties are allowed to have representatives present. They’re not supposed to see the marks on the ballot papers but they are often visible (through the paper from the reverse). Thus, the parties get a “feel” for the numbers.

ray, labour pushing hard in uxbridge & johnson is absent so….I think (and hope) so.
Would be great to see raab & drunken smith have portillo moments.

    Tory minority I reckon

I’m not sure it really is breaking the law fwiw, but anyway could be key, a lot of postal votes for Tories in early, especially if oldies worried about bad weather , Johnson has had a shocker the last few days but their votes are safe anyway even if polls showing a narrowing so yeah Tory minority

At the least we can hope Johnson & Tories are crapping it tonight, I imagine Johnson has already hit the vodka
