Last two Welsh scrums should have been a penalty to Wales.

Agree – 3 or 4 pens on the Aussie line and no PT??

To be down to 13 and come away from that 10 mins three points further ahead – outstanding.

I’m now supporting Scotland in their next game!

Should have been a pt for those scrums, but us second tier teams always get the worst of the reffing.

Fantastic game, brilliant work from the Aussies. Will be supporting them as well as Wales for the rest of the tournament

If Wales had cheated as successfully as Australia then I wouldn’t complain. 😆

    Congrats Australia, amazing defence

Neither would eye, hence good luck to them. All those scrums dropping and mauls being pulled down and the ref didnt even think of a pen try. Still we had our chances and failed to take them. Our weak bench didnt help/

Great game, and to be fair, I fancy our chances more against Wales than Oz..
Even if recent results would show otherwise.
Can’t see Scotland going any further mind.

I did wonder about a pt, but it has to be a clear try denied and I’m not sure the way they were defending whether it was ever ‘inevitable’

Wales were written off for this one (hope more than expectation may be fairer) but played pretty well to keep the game tight and not let Aus run wild. That said they had their chances and didn’t take them.

Others may disagree but all this lambasting of Robshaw not kicking points and no concerns on Wales not taking them either? It must have been really tempting to crack on with only 13 defenders up against you, but in a tight game more than any you take the points??? Aus didn’t seem to offer much but defended heroically and kept the scoreboard ticking over. Rule #1 of international rugby- keep the scoreboard ticking over. Maybe they just fancied their chances in a game that *didn’t really matter* I’m not sure.

Anyway, lets hope Liam hasn’t damaged his foot again and lets also hope Cuthburt gets cited for his knock on 😉 How long would it take to convert Lloyd Williams to a full time winger do you think? 😀

If Wales had cheated as successfully as Australia then I wouldn’t complain.

My thoughts exactly. One of the best exectuted was some very good tactical falling over the defensive ruck and letting the backrow have some more time to poach… or making damn sure they ran in to as many Welsh in the backline as possible in a very clever tacklingthemanoofhteballwithoutactuallytackling tactic. Fair play to them as it is all part of the game!

Great high pressure game with a lot to play for with the winner odds on favourites for a semi final place. Highlight was the Aussie defence when two men down, dare I say it reminds me of a famous win in NZ long ago, tremendous character, determination and organisation. The Aussies will come away with many positives from that stand.

Right then come on Uruguay oops I meant England, I forgot we were still here, I was in minnow mode..

Discipline, penalty in the first min and now a neck grab. Shouldn’t have that been yellow?

Just wait, after 15 tries the headlines will be “england resurgent” wot a load of bollox the press are. I wonder if they feel shame for every stoopid penalty.

Wales were 10 points down and needed a try. A draw wouldnt have helped them and a kick wouldnt have pulled them level.
Wonder if we can find a fit winger to replace Liam, or will we player Tyler Morgan at 13. Our backline today really lacked footballers. Biggar, Roberts, North, Calamity Cuthbert, Loopy Liam none of them are players who put others into space. Anscombe could be a good player in that regard but its a big ask to debut in the world cup v Aus. He did quite well in the end.

Francis and Jarvis trundling off the bench did for us.

What’s that thing on the back of all their shirts? A tracker for post game analysis?

The Aussie goal line defence was awesome. The speed which the back line was up whenever Wales tried to spread it wide was incredible. What struck me was that there was a back rower at every single breakdown, no matter where on the pitch it was. Well played to both sides, Wales didn’t leak any try’s, just gave away too many penalties. SA next week will be a much more abrasive experience for both players and fans.

No yellow for the same offence by Falatau in the earlier game. Think they are generally just giving penalties for first offence/no malice.

    Ok.
Anyway, subdued or what. We look a bit shite. No disrespect to the Uruguayans, they are a good side, and working V hard, but we should be 40+ points up by now. A bit dire.
I don’t think we have turned anything over at the breakdown.

Uruguay are probably the weakest side at the tournament, sad to say. England should have already put a cricket score on them.

    Not good enough, sorry.

Uruguay are like terriers at the breakdown. Seems to be working for them.

They do look like they’re all about 7/8th the size of their opposite numbers though.

I have watched two amazing, nail biting games today: Wigan v Leeds in the Superleague Grand Final and Wales v Australia in the RWC. While both games went the wrong way for me, my goodness they are worlds away from this England v Uruguay drivel.

Time to watch Strictly on Sky+.

It was 6-12 at the time of the yellows with what 15 mins+ left? I know you couldn’t really predict Aus to have defended quite that well but I wonder what Wales would/ should do if in the same situation again against RSA? If anything 2 yellows made it almost guaranteed that the decision be made to go for the try… without the yellows Wales might have even fared better by keeping the scoreboard going and kicking points. Funny old game rugby 😀

The commentators have severe short term memory.
Saying that this hints at positive things to come….. Seriously have they forgotten the previous 2 weekends?
No offence to Uruguay but they are basically amateurs playing.
I hope to God this doesn’t let them think there are not massive issues in the England teams

Yip. It’s a GPS tracker and it’s mainly used to determine g-forces and impacts during a game.

Are you sure, I thought the g force impact thing was worn behind the ear?

You need an accelerometer for that WLM not GPS… Two could be combined though I suppose
