    Previously had xt 1×10 11/36 with 32 superstars narrow wide chainring and 10 speed kmc chain(noise free)
    Now got xt 1×11 11/42 with same 32 chainring and a 11 speed kmc chain and it is constantly grating and noisy in all the gears.
    HELP!!

    KMC 11 spd chains are noisy, but could well be a worn chainring/new chain causing the noise.

    Thanks sillyoldman, i hadn’t thought of that i will order a new chainring asap.It shifts/works perfectly which was making it even more confusing.

    Definitely start at chainring pretty sure that will be your problem.

    Took the KMC chain off the OH’s 1×11 as it was noisy as hell on the stand whilst indexing – put the ultegra one on there and its silent.

    I have always used KMC chains MTB,road and cross never had a problem uptil now.Its quiet until its under load.
