Recommend me some cheap pedals for my bike please. I keep getting distracted by ultra bling titanium axled fairy tear lubricated ones!

Also, kick stands. Are some better than others? Wheel diameter is 700c. The bike is a Trek 3rd District.

I’ve got some brand new ones that came with my bike, nice proper flats with pins and everything. You can have them for £15 Inc P&P

I like the ESGE two-legged kickstand.

Cheers! Anywhere in the UK I can get it? Looks like I have a kickstand plate on the bike too. Result!

I’ve got some cheap wellgo flats on my pottering bike. Cheap as chips and more than adequate grip for their use.

I use Superstar plastic pedals on our ‘family’ bikes. Also, a centre stand is worth looking at rather than a side kick stand.

Whatever brand you get, make sure you get a two legged kickstand. Single legged with all that kiddy weight on the back is a sure fire route to the whole thing toppling over. We had a two legged on and it was great as you could get the infant in and out without worrying about the bike toppling over.

    Pletcher do the best stands.

I got some of these Ergon pedals…

Quite ugly, pricey (though I paid a lot less than 50 quid for them in a Merlin sale), but they do work very well with a variety of shoe soles.

Careful of the 2 legged kickstands, they can put a lot of pressure on the chainstays which the bike isn’t necessarily designed for

Kickstands. Most will fit any size wheel so no problem there. Pletscher make very good ones, I’ve used the rear triangle mount one and the 2 legged one that folds to one side. Both are ace.
DO NOT have the kid in the seat and supported solely by the stand. Do not let go of either child or bike.
Pedals? The ones the bike came with!

eful of the 2 legged kickstands, they can put a lot of pressure on the chainstays which the bike isn’t necessarily designed for

Bikes that are generally the type to be fitted with stands have a special plate to mount them on. Any pressure exerted by the weight of the bike isn’t enough to damage the frame anyway. Just don’t sit on it whilst it’s on the stand, but you know that, right….?

My bike’s got a kickstand plate mounted to it. Just need to figure out somewhere decent to buy it from first.
