If there’s a liking for a more ‘social’ time, we can do that. I’ll see what the consensus is and set something up. I’ll also post it on the new Race Series page if Robbo doesn’t mind. I’m with @weeksy – a wee snifter in the mornings is one of the pleasures of Christmas surely;)

No problem @slowpuncheur might draw some attention to it anyway and give a bump! Might have a celebratory shandy on New Year’s Eve for a social meet up!

Be empty roads on the 29th for the PRL full will it not? Nae ride-ons.

Thats a good point – for those that want to do the PRL Full does the 28th work better (@slowpuncheur @oopnorth)? That is a guest world then so will be a bit busier. Not to worried about ride ons but having a few people to hitch a ride on might be helpful!

The “ride with” option on the front screen worked perfectly for me the other day @robbo1234biking. It is a good way to tag along for part of a longer ride other that the start. It dropped me straight into the group (*), I could see you all highlighted (because I follow you I think) on the minimap, and I didn’t need to do any navigation at all, it just led me along the same roads as you at all the junctions. The only limitation was that I couldn’t see your meetup chat and you couldn’t see my chat in the meetup, so discord was necessary for that.

(*) I disappeared immediately off the back, so quick you might not even have realised I was there to start with, and had to chase back on for a few minutes, but that was because the cat jumped on my keyboard which isn’t exactly zwift’s fault.

Just set it up for which day you want Robbo, I am not 100% that I will be doing it anyway so I don’t want to dictate the time or date. I’ll just join if I can.

I think Kirky saw that you were with us and dropped off straight away – didn’t realise it was a cat related issue but that is a new one to contend with!

I will what slowpuncheur preference is then for that one 🙂

MAybe in your world it’s early 🙂 I’ll have my Xmas jumper on for the first 1km too

a wee snifter in the mornings is one of the pleasures of Christmas surely;)

But, as we are all well aware, “a wee snifter” or a “quick half” is just deluding your self about the fact you’re going to drink your self to near death then roll in at 4am with kebab smeared down your shirt and hope your significant other won’t have noticed and assume you’re ill not hungover to within an inch of vomiting every time you move and are therefore deserving of sympathy when you do finally wake up.

Starting that at 8am will ruin everything. For starters there’s no way on earth I’m having donner for lunch without getting divorced.

Let me check my busy Christmas diary…:)

Nope. Nothing. Let’s do 28th then. I thought the discord alternative worked OK last week.

BTW I burnt off nearly 3500 calories on the Uber which rather depressingly is only about 12 mince pies. I’ll have plenty of fuelling options for next week though.

Just gradually change the clocks over the next week so she thinks 8am is 8pm and therefore it is OK?

…assume you’re ill not hungover to within an inch of vomiting every time you move and are therefore deserving of sympathy when you do finally wake up

Exercise induced dehydration can do that to a person.

I want to get the PRL ticked and defo want to ride it in a group, but have a cross race on the 28, so can’t do round that time. Prob new year for me.

I’ll likely join for the first part.

Im still not that “conditioned” to sitting on an non moving bike. On the other hand I’ve just put my back out so not really conditioned for anything,

Anyone planning on doing some rides in the evenings? I’m going to do the Festive 500 but I’m 7 hours behind UK time. So the early mornings are probably not great! Not sure if Mrs. 10 will feel happy about me starting a ride at 11pm!

So if the PRL is the 28th I may be able to join for 2-3 hrs. If it’s the 29th, then work gets in the way again! 😢

My lad wants jump fun tomorrow. Nothing like Xmas Eve in A&E. Will see what time we’re heading before deciding on the 8am.

I’ll try to be of some assistance @slowpuncheur, definitely be the latter part of the ride, I’m not getting up at 0630 on a Bank Holiday for no one 😂

@robbo1234biking thanks for that, hopefully see you there are you using companion app chat or discord. I’d need to sort discord as don’t think I have it on the device on my bike.

Robbo, do we need another link for discord  for those joining later ?

    robbo1234biking

@forge197 link below should work for discord but if you don’t get a chance to sort it by then I can post up a fresh one.

    https://discord.gg/9sQ6ggmK

    @neilarn2
this is the same room as the last ride – it has just been renamed so you should already have access.

We can use the same method as last time – Zwift companion for the early starters and then if anyone joins later on the ride switch over to discord for chatting. Seemed to work well enough if anyone joins us for a lamp.

Not gonna make the ride tomorrow morning.
First day off work and don’t think it’ll go down too well if I nip off to the garage for a Zwift session!

Well i’m up and about and no plans, so i’ll certainly jump on.

I’m not sure my pace is up to what you lads will want to play at, so i’ll come on and see what happens to begin with 🙂 the rest is anyones guess.

    morning Weeksy!
It’s a pretty flat route, with a few climbs only…
It starts flat, so plenty of time for us to train along…

Pace will be group pace 🙂

    See you ina bit..

Sorry guys, I decided with it being my first day off work that I would play alarm bingo…not set it and see what time I woke up. Well that was 5 minutes ago so no time to get ready and join in time for the start.

Plenty more time to ride in the coming week so I’ll see you at some point…enjoy!

    LOLOL nice.

Mine worked perfectly as it always does 🙂

I did 40 mins which was a pace i was happy with, some peaks and troughs when you lose a wheel, but enough of a workout to enjoy it as well as try a little bit. Jumped out then as i need to go play in the woods later with the boy.

It would be much better in porridge.

It was a bit weird seeing you at the top suddenly but it had been a bit jerky ask morning so guessed you just last skipped into view.
I shouldn’t have but I did smirk when you turned the wrong way.

That was very weird indeed. If you your set up is fine then it’s strange that you have these difficulties, the worst I’ve experienced in nearly 3 years is dropping out for 5 to 10 seconds then reappearing. My broadband speed is not amazing however the link up between the elite direto and mid range laptop sat across the from via a garmin dongle as been consistently stable.

Enjoyed that course, did the full lap more or less with Brian, he helped tow me at times and we jumped a decent group for a while to maintain a steady pace. I lost Brian mid way up the mini Kom as I guess he was conserving a little for his time trial.

Finished the route and surprisingly received the unlock badge, thought I done it before, did another lap but turned right at the end to loop back around the flatter parts rather than back up towards Ventoux. Stopped to relieve saddle soreness and devour a croissant and Brioche. Then on for another three laps I think to hit 85 miles and make a dent into the festive 500. 20% complete now so hopefully can manage 4 x 60 give or take and any shortages catch up with an easy pedal on the day ear marked for a rest.
