Problem with Jonathan Davis is he couldnt pass water, combine him with Roberts or Tuilagi and you centres would have the combined “hands” of Abu Hamzar and that bird from CBbies.

    Ouch A-A 😀

As a Scot I will be interested to see if Laidlaw can throw his hat into the ring for the 10 jersey. I have a sneaking suspicion Flood may do enough over the season to edge it mind. In other news the Times had a picture of Cipriani tackling somebody yesterday (don’t get too excited,it was only Charlie Hodgson)Roberts and Grampa o’D in the centres..OR..play Roberts at prop;it’s not as if the convicts XV bother with forwards either.

Interesting Poll on the telegraph. Who should Gatland pick.

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/rugbyunion/international/britishandirishlionsrugby/9519473/Poll-Who-should-Warren-Gatland-pick-for-the-Lions.html

Based on the options avaiable I have:

    Kearney
    Bowe
    BOD
    Roberts
    North
    Sexton
    Phillips
    Healy
    Best
    Jones
    Gray
    Davies
    Ferris
    Warburton
    Heaslip

The Independent seem to think that Dan Cole is a shoe in…..

I’d have Cole on the bus, but not totally sure he’s my first pick yet. Then again, not sure who is!

Whisper it quietly, but I don’t see BOD going on this tour.

I can’t quite make up my mind on Cole. Last season in the Heine the Ulster pack took Ayerza,Castro then Cole apart, then in the 6N Cole destroyed Tom Court, I guess it maybe says a lot more about the players around you than the ability of the props.

CFH – Catch yourself on. 33-1 that he starts.

BOD MUST go. Otherwise Tuilangi(sp) and Roberts in the centre(shudders)

Did you see what the england pack did to ireland in the last meeting?

Different sides of the scrum my friend

I know that but one is rather good and one….isn’t that good at all.
Edit; I haven’t seen that much of Healy, maybe I’m being harsh. what I have seen has been quite average though.

No I agree that if you are just picking a ‘prop’ without specifying LH or TH then Cole is better than Healy. However the Tele poll I linked two separated the side of the scrum. Therefore the choice was between Adam Jones and Cole and that is no contest.

Fair enough (although I don’t wholly disagree that it’s no contest). Did they not have jenkins, corbs or marler on there?

Pick Adam Jones and build from there. Can’t remember the last time anyone got one over him.

Tuilangi was dropped by England last time out, let alone being a Lions test starter although I hope he comes on well this season.

Wilko has been playing well in France for several years but that has been no indication as to his performance on the international stage.

The biggest concern is a long hard season (well the Premiership and Europe anyway), and then minimal prep time so it may be a case of picking who is left standing.

You’re not wrong there. Also the 6N in the feb/mar and possible HC S/F, QF and finals in april/may.

    Want another TJ contribution?

Edinburgh – managed toget a win in a close game – but maybe it should never have been close at all the number of chances Edinburgh cocked up. Got a core of a good team there – should be challenging for both trophies this year.

Glasgow? Well every week the axing of Lineen and parachuting in of Townsend looks more bizarre. I see them having a disasterous season. Why does Morsison get a place? FFS.

Lions? the scots representation will be thin but should be more than just Gray. Gray. ford, Rennie, Denton on the plane with a decent chance of playing, Laidlaw, McVisser, Hogg in with a chance.

Not a vintage time for 10s in the NH right now so Laidlaw could get his place – I rate him as good or better than any other competitors.

6N – Scotland will do nothing while nuptybaws is in charge. He has proven to be useless as an international coach.

    If pushed:

    Foden
    1/2p
    Davis (unlessBOD shows form)
    Roberts
    North
    Sexton
    Phillips
    Denton
    Tipuric
    Lydiate
    POC
    Grey
    Adam
    Best/Ford
Gethin (but he wont be released in time so Healey)

Glasgow have signed a member of ZZ Top, apparently.

    Billy Gibbons.

    Josh Strauss

OK, so not really, but they have signed a pretty handy 8 in Strauss.

If only he would sack Townsend due to “musical differences” Nothing good can come of the season he is in charge, just as we finally have enough money to start moving forward,he gets the job. (sigh)

My wife took my to Munster Leinster in Limerick a few years ago. Why did they build a brand new stadium in Munster with no roof a the ends?? No amount of Gortex will keep you dry from Munster Mist!!

I jest, its a great place to watch rugby, almost as good as Ravenhill 😀 You will have a wonderful time.

Melon; If I do get stabbed it will be black beer that comes out AND I will be so drunk I won’t feel it. Have to take issue with the Ravenhill comparison; I went to see a kid from my club play for the u21’s there on a cold Feb Friday night on int weekend. It was just like being in Firhill!

Guinness is an wonderful anesthetic 😀

Aye the weather can roll in at Ravenhill alright, although it is due for a major redevelopment in the next couple of years. Comparing it to Firhill, come on now at least Ravers is in a decent bit of Belfast, not the Maryhill Road!

Some cracking looking fixtures this weekend. Looking forward to Ulster/Munster of course but also Sarries/Tigers and the AB/Sa should be a cracker.

Nope, off to that on 24th. There is a comp for £1m for catching 3 balls at half time though. Fingers crossed everyone….

    Indeed. Utter pish so far.

Gough’s little kick through was rather lovely (But for a bounce!)

Glasgae are defending really well, though, to give them their due.
