My prediction is Wales to under achieve this season however the fans will still somehow claim they are the bes team in world rugby because of the flair and style shown during their losses.

Nobody beats Wales. They just score more points than them.

(I can’t remember who said that, think it was a NZ captain some years ago..)

Each year the Taffs are predicted to under achieve and presently every 3 years deliver a grand slam. I find it astonishing England have only managed 1 since 1995 and during their best period Ireland are no better.

Anyone watching Blues v Munster? Reasonable game-the scrum v boys are on top form 🙂

Yep, good game so far. Fair yellow for ROG.

Fine effort by blues to loose that after so much territory and possession. How Munster managed three tries i’ll never know. In other news, Sale are 15-3 up against the exiles 🙂

Just got back from a freezing Liberty Stadium where Ospreys beat Leinster 😆

Awful first half but much better second with a great try conjured up by Fussell. Really was very good. Did I say it was bloody freezing.

    Well done London Welsh 😆

Blummin’ S4C crashed so I missed the second half! Was the try as good as reports are saying it was?

Also, well done Oxford Welsh! 🙂

    That’s a yes, then! Lovely!

Flash it was genuinely class, the line he took had the two defenders guessing and unable to commit to the tackle, he straitens out and sent Walker away. Was lucky to have a great view of it.

Only down side was the oafs at the ticket office sold us tickets for seats that were season ticket holders, had to move twice and had sincere apologies from a steward who sorted it all out. For £28 that is nonsense so will have words tomorrow to see if I can get a gesture from the Cuddy coffers 😉

Is£28 in the main stand, seated?

    Pigface

Scamper its all a main stand really and all seated. £28 is steep as last year it was £20. You coming down with the rest of the Shedheads. My mate who is a season ticket holder at Kingsholm is coming down. 7.45 kickoff I think.

Nah, have to pick and choose my games at the moment with a 1 yr old, but hope to get to Glos v Fiji next week, i believe.

Think my tickets cost something like £11 a match, but thats for Terrace with extra, extra STH early booking discount.

Just been reading about the Ospreys trying to get a Tongan game in Bridgend on November 13th, but the WRU refusing it, saying that they were concerned about player burnout and how it may impact on other fixtures.

    Yeah, all those midweek fixtures!

The Os wanted it to be a runout for players who aren’t affected by the Welsh call up, so how this could lead to player burnout is a mystery.

I can see HUGE problems arising between the WRU and the regions very soon if something doesn’t change.

Good article about life in the Welsh training camp in Poland, long hard days of training:

    Scottish team to face NZ.

Scotland: S Hogg (Glasgow Warriors); S Lamont (Glasgow Warriors), N De Luca (Edinburgh), M Scott (Edinburgh), T Visser (Edinburgh), G Laidlaw (Edinburgh), M Blair (Brive); R Grant (Glasgow Warriors), R Ford (Edinburgh), G Cross (Edinburgh), R Gray (Sale Sharks), J Hamilton (Gloucester), A Strokosch (Perpignan), R Rennie (Edinburgh), K Brown (capt, Saracens).

Replacements : S Lawson (London Irish), A Jacobsen (Edinburgh), K Traynor (Bristol), A Kellock (Glasgow Warriors), D Denton (Edinburgh), H Pyrgos (Glasgow Warriors), R Jackson (Glasgow Warriors), M Evans (Castres).

I would have preferred to see Jackson at 10 as i think his defence is a bit better than Laidlaw. NZ back row will have an enjoyable afternoon i think.

Odd welsh team. Tavis is just a shit version of Phillips, might focus his mind i suppose. I’d have started with Hibbard over Rees and two looseheads on bench is plain strange. I might have chosen McCusker over Turnbull too.

James covers both sides is the thinking, I suppose.

And as far as Knoyle and Rees being selected, well whaddaya expect?? They are Scarlets and the Scarlets are the Golden Boys again. I mean Priestland? Seriously? How badly does he have to be to play himself out of the team?

    Pigface

Priestland will miss his first kick, confidence will be shot and will be replaced, his kicking is shocking but I guess they can turn to 1/2p

Scarlets are the Golden Boys again

Spoken like a true Ospreylian 😉

1/2p will be kicking has been first choice kicker for sometime. Why have James covering both sides if you have Bevington covering loosehead. Its **** crazy James is a good loosehead and a shit imposter at tighthead.

I think the management are just posturing with dropping Phillips. Where’s Lloyd Williams anyway?

I like the look of that Scottish pack…..But we are playing the All-Blacks 🙁 Sporting of us to elect to play without any centres as well, and replace them with speedbumps.

Still, they haven’t named a team so they might not turn up and we can claim a walkover.

Boxfish i think your right. Had it been nz or aus first up i dont think they’d have done it. Plus someone has to play in the aus game thats not phillips as he’ll be back in France so Lloyd may get a game against samoa.

Also for SA in 1995. (v France in the semis iirc. Game should have been called off because of the weather, then France scored several perfectly good tries which were disallowed. Unfortunately the ref was Welsh. Supposedly the best ref in the world!)

I’d love to read an impartial true account of what went on in that WC. None of this Invictus nonsense.
