Back in the promised land it’s http://www.blackislebrewery.com but down south here it’s http://www.freewheelinbrewery.co.uk a few hundred metres from the flat or I guess Tempest a bit further down the road.

Caledonian back in Edinburgh, mmm 80 shilling, and I’m old enough to have lived next to the old Mcewans brewery on fountainbridge in Edinburgh which is now gone. Used to be the characteristic smell of Edinburgh on a cold windy day.

Got 5 really good ones within a 20 mile walk of the house, Winston brewing, shambles,t bone, captain blighs and hobart brewing company. Hard to pick but it’s between Winston and Hbc for my pick of the best at the moment

Peak Ales do a good range and are about 1000m from my door, but luckily there a a bar within 500m that will pull the stuff for me at a very reasonable price.

Outside of that given I’m in Derbyshire but close to Sheffield I really am spoilt. Life is tough.

The Thurstein Pilsner is fantastic through a superchiller 😉

As to Ulverston David – there are 3 at the moment I think! There was one in Barrow, but can’t remember it’s name… and not sure if it is still there. Foxfield Brewery isn’t far away though either.

Then you have a few over in Millom too – Hardknott is over that way.

Infact – a convenient list is here!

Turns out I’m completely ignorant. Assumed Hardknott brewery was up the coast for some reason, but I’ve had some of their ales and they were really good from what I remember.

And of course, Greenodd brewery; used to drink in the Ship alot years ago. Although the brewery wasn’t a thing then.

20 miles would get you to Cascade, Last Rites, Moo Brew, Double Head & maybe that one in the Margate train.

Can I just say that there’s some impressive ‘modern’ labels which make a refreshing change to the more traditional type.

Wylam Brewery and Mordue are two excellent local brewers in the North East. Federation Brewery Ace lager was probably the worst. Long gone thank goodness.

‘local’ takes on a slightly different meaning when you live out in the sticks, but Bateman’s, who brew fantastic beer, and Fulstow Brewery, who brew an epic IPA, are my local brewers of choice.

Living in east Kent I’m totally spoilt for choice. There are microbreweries and micropubs everywhere. My favourite three brewers at the moment are Gadds, Goodies and the Hopdaemon.

    and Surrey Hills

I’ve only ever had Shere Drop though. Really must get to the brewery, or pubs that do more than just that one (bit like Hogs Back, a lot just do Tea… which is alright).

You should also try the Tillingbourne Brewery[/url]

They also run the stephan langton inn in Friday street. Been there on a few occasions and stopped off for a pint, as there are a few trails from the top of Leith hill heading in that direction.

Used to be Green King IPA, now it’s Sarah Hughes, Holden’so, Bathams (Lamp Tavern ftw) or Ma Pardoes.

Generally drink Cider of Gin these days.

Copper Dragon Golden Pippin is my most local decent ale. Ilkley Mary Jane or the Saltaire Brewary grog also get the thumbs up.

I’m 10 miles from Thornbridge Brewery in Bakewell. Started out as a bit of a hobby brewery from what I know about it but it’s now a fairly sizeable heavyweight in the game. Still turns out great range of beer.

The Microbrewery and not so micro brewery are rife in the Shire where I reside. Wiltshire hosts the well known Wadworth brewery in Devizes.
I also socialise with the head Brewer at Ramsbury Brewery. Tibor (no, his mints are not a minty bit stronger) has also just won a first prized gold award for Ramsbury Vodka. well worth a brewery tour and a tasting.

Grew up on Brakspears Ordinary when the original brewery was still in the town – now on the Wimbledon Brewery. It’s not bad, but I’m struggling to find a pint as good as Brakspears..

Sold a Fender Strat to the Master Brewer of my nearest brewery a few years back…He smelt iffy/hoppy, his beer is ace tho! 😀

Bit of a bold statement in the badge but camra seemed to rate it.

Tennents Wellhead brewery is about 400 metres from my office.

Their beer is a crime against humanity.

Thankfully Drygate is next door and makes some nice beer.

So I’d a pint of drygate pilsner at the weekend, by god that’s awful stuff. if that’s your standard take a look at your self! 😆 tennents is a far nicer than the pint of washing detergent drygate served up as lager! brutal, left half the pint.
