Its a long but interesting story, everyone who hears it laughs uncontrolably and ends up smiling for days, sometimes even weeks. I will have to tell it you some day.

he dorset knob is the name of a pub in poole

Really? Whereabouts? (And what did it used to be called – I'm sure there was no pub of that name when I lived there!)

    a type of local biscuit

'Biscuit' is stretching it a bit. Stale elephant bollock, more like.

Always like the retro component brand name of nukeproof back when I started mountain biking as a teenager even if their carbon hubs weren't overly reliable, not that I could afford them anyway….got the username way before nukeproof rose again as a brand and, when it did, I cut it short to nuke. What an exciting story to tell the kids one day 😐

The slim fast advert used to make me laugh…

It was only recently I found out that (that was me) Barry Bethell (before I took the slim fast plan) was found guilty of sexually assaulting kids. I should probably change it now. Perhaps to something less creepy like Jonathan King or Gary Glitter.

Elaine – slight hijack. What's your fella's name? I was talking to Shaun Rawcliffe today about Wing Chun and was going to mention him…

My parents named me Derek, but always called me Dez. Surname begins with B.
Stems from when I signed up to AOL years ago (duh, 1999) and needed a unique name – so dezb99. Dropped the 99 as STW was easier to find a unique name on.
Quite simple really so surprised I managed to drag this post out so long. I did think of a good username for my mate who signed up – Donkey Puncture – you know after Donkey Punch and a common mtb problem for those who don't run tubeless…

Named after a small stuffed polar bear. Who had a house. Actually it was an emporium. Which sold stuff.

I'm not sure how to explain that in any way that'd make sense.

It's Scots Gaelic for magician or wizard. My daughter used to believe I was one when I did slight of hand tricks for her.

The name crops up across Scotland in places like Aviemore – the Allt Druidh – and gives Inverdruie its name too.

my first name is Adam and my surname begins with G, but for some reason I couldn't get that user name approved…? Before my time, possibly.

So, my fave band Shriekback did a brilliant track called 'my spine is the bassline', and I used that to make my name for one of my CDs and I've used it for several email accounts, just recycled it again.

    Still giggling at

'Biscuit' is stretching it a bit. Stale elephant bollock, more like.

I've played guitar since I was 15 and in my my first band the bass player called my distorted sound "greasy" and as my real name is Graham, the two came together. 25 years later and the name still sticks 🙂

Sometimes I'm one, most of the time I'm the other and occasionally I'm both. Mainly stems from years of enduro motorbiking and a KTM which suffered from this.
