Swordfish looks interesting, I’ll have to ask Mark at my local to see if he can get a barrel. Waddies are just up the road from me, but I’ve not seen that one on tap locally.
Anyway, I’ve got a bunch of different ales to choose from in a little while, and a couple of bottles of Kentucky Bourbon, a bottle of Sainsbury’s own brand Highland Single Malt and a bottle of Laphroaig.
    Choice is a bitch… 😀

Drank half a bottle of run last night so don’t feel the need for any booze today. However, I’m now technically 5% pirate so not all bad ……..

I’m at the brother in laws daarn scarf (colchester). So far it’s pre-dinner cocktails. (twinkles- prosecco, vodka and elderflower cordial). Wine will come with the meal and then we’re off to my favourite boozer, the hospital arms for Adnams until closing.

I am enjoying a Lords Brewery Expedition Pale Ale http://www.lordsbrewing.com

It’s my friends new brewery and even it is wasn’t I would still say it’s the best beer I have ever drunk.

If you’re anywhere near Huddersfield make sure you get hold of some.

So far I’ve had a bottle of Franziskaner Weissbier, very presentable for a supermarket special offer. Then 2 bottles of Bud at a neighbours Xmas eve drop in. Now a large gin and tonic (Tesco finest aromatic and fevertree). That might be it for tonight, as I suspect |I’ll be up about 6 with the kids and then the dog needs a long walk to calm her down / wear her out before the rellies arrive and we go out for dinner.

I’ve always had the tradition of opening one present on xmas eve so i choose the one that i knew contained a bottle of whisky from my good mates, i’ve previously dropped hints that i prefer a speyside whisky earlier in the month so i was intrigued to see what was wrapped up , Ho-ho…ya belter!….I was so right in choosing this present to open t’night.

    Douglas Laing – Scallywag[/url]

Lovely smelling whisky with a thick oily unctuous cling to the side of the glass when swilled around, massive nose that smells of sweet toasted marshmallows – add just a touch of water to taste and it’s a belter, strong sherry n’ fruity notes to begin with then developing into taste of sweet medjool dates followed by what i can only describe as an almost toffee pudding like taste.

Hmmmm……i’m going to enjoy this one so i’ll try and keep my consumption to sensible levels t’night.
