What would be the odds of two ppl with a same username and password

Just tried to create a new iTunes account, punch details in and it tells me username registered already. Not remembering registering it previously I chuck my standard iTunes password in on the off chance I’d registered before and it logs me in. But the account is populated with an Australian guys details. I message him and he does indeed exist.

So same username and same password. What the deuce!

It depends, if your password was “password” then the probability would be greatly increased.

Maybe you have a twin brother and were separated at birth?

As the person does exist, the probability is 1 to the rest of the world using I tunes

Maybe its your un-used account, he tried the same username and then attempted a password reset and has similar security details to yourself? And therefore assumed ownership of the account.

I tried to get an old Yahoo account working recently and tried to find my missing login ID via my registered phone number, text came through and I ended up accessing someone elses (dormant) account?! They must have entered my number for some reason.
