I’m a Site Operator on a Bulk Fuel Storage Depot for a Govt Dept based in Whitehall. Rural location and work in and outdoors and shifts, not an unpleasant way to earn a crust.

Love this job description. Got visions of some bloke making power drill noises as he moves his arms slowly towards a wall.

A one-time marine biologist, I now spend most of my time getting people to talk with each other so they make better (less bad? good?) decisions.

Most of the time, great fun. Not so fun when doing stoopid workloads due to inability of clients to see that a quinquennial cycle comes around, oooh, about… every – five – freakin’ – years – surprise!!

I sell and support the computers that garages use to fix your over complicated technical nightmares of cars, trucks, bikes, tractors even jet skis…. Interesting and frustrating and why I love bikes, cos they’re simple compared to cars…

Another of those overpaid, over pensioned NHS types. 6 years at Uni, 10 years postgraduate training, 15 years of continuing education so far. Not an easy career change either way, in or out.

Yes PhilC people on here seem to be in IT, engineering or NHS! I’m a family support worker, I work with children in care for an Independent Fostering agency. Looking to study to be a social worker. Used to manage a record label, so an interesting career change for me – I can recommend them!

Graphic Designer, Web Designer, Brand and Marketing Consultant, general purveyor of new trousers for Emperors. Bit of video work, photography and copywriting thrown in too. Really varied, really enjoy it, pay is quite good.

I appreciate I’m going to end up on the ‘B’ ark, but I can always fall back on my Computer Science degree and maybe solve some of the world’s real problems again…

So when a thread appears about religion on here, I keep my mouth shut. Best to do that when you actually know something about a subject. 😉

I recruit NHS staff, and also dismiss NHS staff. I’m very busy dismissing NHS staff at the moment. Mostly the rubbish ones who can’t come to work because they are ‘ill’ and the ones that are just plain rubbish at their jobs…..in a small way i’m helping my Trust to save £47,000,000 in budget cuts.
