currently built my 29er with rigid forks for a bit of road work, so looking for some roady/semi-slick tyres to run on my crest rim’s tubeless, but not wanting anything too skinny ideal 1.5-1.8 ish?
Anyone know of anything out there?

Any decent 700x28c tyre will do exactly what you are looking.

didn’t know that a 700 was the exact same size as a 29er?
    If they are great, cheers

Yes, 29er = 700c. You just need to check that you don’t run tyres too narrow for the width of the rim (or pumped up too hard).

Yep exactlt the same size, plenty of suitable 700C / 29er touring tyres available to suit any budget.

I run Schwalbe Durano 700 X28 tyres on Crests on the CX bike for winter road duties, work fine and give a good profile.

Got a spare set that have only done less than 200 miles if any good to you?

Vittoria randonneur hyper 35 – 40mm, decent price on planet – x. Good tyres too.

Schwalbe Kojak’s a good option if you want fairly fat- they’re still sensibly light, and fast, and have a wee smidgen of puncture protection.

I’ve got some Schwalbe Marathons in the shed I don’t want.

I’ve got some of these in 700c * 40, seem lightweight, fast and comfy so far (and no punctures in London yet)

Certainly better than the old 28mm gatorskins on potholes and the occasional off-road detour.

edit – noticed they are mentioned above!
