    Hi

Needing some new riding glasses but with amber lenses. These seem to be in short supply at the moment but the APE optics Victory Chimp seem to be in stock. Has anyone here tried them?

I hope they’re good as I’ve just ordered some! I’ll report back when I get them.

I haven’t tried the amber lenses yet, but can say the clear lenses are great.

I was thinking about this thread over the weekend so well reminded. I’ve not used them that much and that’s mainly been with the photochromic lenses.

They’re OK, not as substantial as the likes of Oakleys but they’re significantly cheaper. They look good, fit me well, don’t steam up for me and I’m happy with my purchase. I am a nightmare for damaging or losing cycling glasses so didn’t want to spend a lot of money. If I was going to buy again and be a bit more careful then I might be tempted to spend a bit more on Sungod etc.

Got as far as looking up the website and signing up for the discount code before realising they’re those daft ’80s wraparound numbers. What’s with those?

I ordered a pair of the casual claro style earlier today, not orange lens though and not for riding in. So not in any way a valuable contribution to this thread. I like victory chimp though, it’s a bit daft.

    Code breakers look good.

    Anyone got experience of Siroko?

I was mostly after a polarised option to replace the ones I have. A cat 1-2 lense would be a bonus.

Polarised cat 1-3 photo chromic for the win!

I ride with the new style Apes. I like them. Much nicer than the cheapy PlanetX jobs I had before, good peripheral vision, good coverage. Bear in mind I have a Big Face and so the trend for huge lenses works in my favour.

Photochromic mainly for off-road and winter, popped the mirror lens in for the first time this weekend, and it wasn’t too optimistic!

Obviously they’re not Oakley’s but they’re the best sixty-quid range glasses I’ve tried.
