also on the same weekend and in wales is this:
Cambrian Bike Fest May 28th, 29th & 30th 2011
Set in the heart of Wales in the Cambrian Mountains, Llanwrtyd Wells provides access to one of the few remaining wilderness areas in Britain and in May 2011 will host The Cambrian Bike Fest, a 3 day event offering challenging way-marked MTB routes for the beginner/novice through to the professional rider.
Llanwrtyd Wells has hosted many cycling events including the 2009 Merida. The 2010 Tour of Britain was routed through the town and will also see this years TransWales pass through.
This is a new event for Llanwrtyd Wells and will be the first 3 day MTB Enduro in the UK, it is being organised by local mountain bikers who have excellent knowledge of areas off the beaten track. The routes will take the cyclist through some of the most beautiful scenery in Mid Wales with energetic climbs and exhilarating descents.
The organisers are working closely with the community to make this event into a festival, with good riding during the day, street entertainers early evening, and the local restaurants and pubs offering good value menus for cyclists and non cyclists alike.
