My father has a Carry campervan -one of these:

A slightly bonkers and ace little thing, with more space than you might imagine. He does few miles, but no issues at all with it, including long trips from Manchester to Scotland.

I’d rock one of those all day long! And a Bedford Rascal.

For some reason I’m reminded of a certain 70’s cartoon. Anyone remember Grape Ape?

My mate had one and loved it. He is 6ft and could just about sleep in it. They are surprisingly useful for moving light stuff like furniture etc. A full length roof rack let him cart surfboard kit around
They are useful but as a little van. I’d imagine only Ronnie Corbett could use the converted camper version

They’re perfectly good little vans. Not very high tech but reliable and pretty low maintenance. The 1300 isn’t to bad on mileage either. Never put a bike in the back but they’re long enough to sleep in unless you’re a giant and sleep completely straight.

It’s also surprising how much stuff you can get in them as they’re a sensible shape.

Used to have a Rascal which all had Suzuki engines, very spacious inside, run on fumes and horrible on motorways

My Dad had one for years and it was very reliable, OK to drive and great for his needs (house renovations).

I always declined his offers to borrow it for bike trips though, didn’t fancy a long M-way run in it.
