    How tall are you?

    I am a stocky manlet of 5’8″.

    Target is 140lb 🙂

14lbs down since the start, 7 to go til I hit fighting weight. Weight loss still accelerating – if this keeps up I’ll be done by Tuesday 😯

Think I must have worms or cat aids, or something.

This mornings weigh in shows I’m now 9lb down overall. Despite a weeeknd of cow pie and beer last week. Mrs Binners is also down the same

I can honestly say that this is the first time in my life I’ve deviated from my usual ‘eat and drink whatever the hell you like!’ philosophy, and I’m still keeping the slow and steady weight loss up. But whats noticeable is where the weights gone from. I no longer look quite as much like I’m 6 months pregnant 😀

    166 / 11st 12 / just over 75kg.

That’s 2lbs down in 2 weeks, 11 lbs in total. All good stuff.

Interestingly, my MFP is set up to a 1 lb a week loss, which it looks like I have settled down to.

I’ve started adding exercise into the mix, but need to step that up a notch.

Highlights this week? I was away on business weds night, and instead of spending the evening in the bar eating hotel food and drinking beer, I did a session in the hotel gym, then drove to a supermarket and brought a salad for my tea.

What a good boy / boring old fart I am becoming.

Down 1 lb. Very happy with that! Was expecting an increase after 1 week of work travel and 2 weeks recovering from an operation. I guess the first week after op I didn’t eat much and haven’t drunk any alcohol since which cancelled it out.

Really looking forward to being able to get back on a bike, even if it’s just a short steady turbo!

Well the holiday took its toll, although maybe not quite as badly as I thought it might. 207 lbs on the nose.

Down to 185lb. Lost 9lb in total. 4lb to go to hit my March target. Just going on hols for a week though! Center Parcs so hopefully keep active enough with swimming etc and brought my running kit.

Just 1lbs lost in the last week, but that’s ok: I haven’t been careful with my diet. On the other hand, I’ve been getting more miles in on the bike so maybe that helped.

    Kg or lbs.

What can I say, I’m a maverick. I answer to no man and live by my own rules.

If I had a theme tune, it would involve a lot of wah-wah pedal, that’s all I’m sayin’.

Not much progress here, down 1.2lb to 208.8lb

    That’s from a start of 215lb

So 6.2lb off so far in 6 weeks, that’s 32.6% of my 3 month target, best get cracking.

Jamie, I wish it was lbs! (Maybe… think I’d be dead at 109 lbs!)

    109kg

I’m continuing with my 1kg per fortnight average loss, hit a milestone though as my BMI is now 29.92, merely overweight!

Not dramatic, but I can’t complain as I’ve lost every time and the last month has included work trips away.

My 6 week update. No idea how much weight has gone but I’ve lost 7cm from my waist, 7 cm form my lower chest, 2cm from my upper chest. Thing is, that’s in just the last 3 weeks, so not including the 3 weeks before that. Was in 40 inch kecks on January 1st, now back into my 36.

No specific diet or calorie counting for me, just an overall 3 pronged sustainable life style change. Firstly a lot more mountain biking and putting the hard graft in on these winter nights. Secondly, cutting right back on the booze but still allowing it. Thirdly on the food front; no unhealthy snacking, watch the portion sizes and fat content and try and go for healthier options in general. Not cutting out rice, pasta, bread, spuds but just being sensible. I’ve noticed food/snack cravings have reduced remarkably.

This is basically what I’m doing, except road biking rather than mountain biking.

Haven’t weighed since weds as I’m out of the country away from my scales, but 205 down from 228. End target 196.

I am struggling today. I have only had my normal lunch (a tin of mackerel, two apples, and a cheeky chocolate bar), but I am starving.

I just want to eat a big sandwich!

You could have had a big sandwich instead of the 2 apples and a chocolate bar.

Or a big sandwich and an apple instead of the lunch you had.

    Tinned mackerel sandwich FTW!!

On proper bread – fart-sniffing artisan cockwomble stuff,so it’s not bloaty-mcbloatface gluten rankness that just makes you feel over-full & grim.

**** the chocolate, squire – that’ll just make you want more sweeties.

Edit: drink water to fill tummy 🙂

Chapeau to those above, some good numbers.

Have managed 1lb a week to be on 173, was only 179 to start with though. Fairly heavy for me although below all-time high

I’ve been enjoying my road riding more – not because I’m loads faster (I am a bit) but because I no longer feel like a fat blob on a road bike, in a skinny mans world. Just been out for a cracking ride in Marin County, and been owned on the hills by the local whippets, but didn’t feel like an interloper.

Stopped raining here today, just low cloud and sea fog – lots of road closure she from mudslides and flooding though!! Nor Cal in winter certainly isn’t the same as down south!!

Zero effort the last 10 days, so still at a total loss of 3lbs! But that’s OK, I only have 15 lbs to lose in total, so 0.5lbs a week average for now isn’t catastrophic, it’ll increase as the nights get lighter and it gets into full distance commute weather 🙂

    Well done fat fighters!

most results in now. I see a fair few have experienced ‘slowdown’ after the initial losses; don’t get disheartened – you’re still weighing less than you were at the start and it’s a long game.

We’re running this for 26 weeks, we’ve done 6. Averaging a lb a week over that time is nearly 2st which is a great result for anyone.

The only failure would be to give up now.

I’d say my first six weeks are an epic fail, really. Lots of excuses: travelling, busy at work, quite a bit of travelling and a few conferences. What a crock.

So, I either give up and stay fat or start again, and aim for a decent couple of weeks to get back on it. I’m going for the latter.

I haven’t been eating too badly to be honest, but barely drinking any water – just gallons of tea and coffee. Can’t believe that is the key, but it’s something I’m going to change. Well done to all those who have lost proper amounts – I envy you!

When it’s cold I don’t drink that much water.

I drink a load of peppermint and rooibos tea, and am pissing clear. So guess it’s ok.

Yay it’s Saturday which means it’s treat day, currently trying to decide between cooked breakfast or chippy dinner, but I’m definitely having a full on roast with belly pork followed by cheesecake for tea, and probably beer. Have a good one.

    resurrection.

Might be worth having a look at the 5:2 diet, i found my way to that for the same reasons, work travel, eating out, etc. Being ‘reasonably’ healthy on days when I could (scrambled eggs on toast rather than full english, steak and salad rather than chips) and then having 2 days of proper calorie restriction meant there’s space for a day or meal or two when you can ‘go mad’

I haven’t posted yet on here in case it didn’t happen but so far so good, 233lbs down to 218, still got the magic 29.9 BMI to get to (it know BMI is a blunt tool but it’s a milestone). No diet, just eating much better, both in calorie terms and quality, more veg, granary bread etc. Been exercising as well, back on the mountain bike for the first time in 18 months. Only issue at the moment seems to be blood pressure, around 150 over 100 it seems (bought a monitor this week after the thread on here), shall watch it for month, it if isn’t getting better I’ll pop to the docs.

Compared to previous efforts to get fit/lose weight I haven’t felt as hungry or had as many cravings, maybe got a genuine chance of lifestyle changes this time.

    Cheers Jon.

I’m heading into town later to see if Fenwick have got some kind of bento box or similar. Travel should settle down now, I can start to make more regular exercise too. I think if I can start taking lunch into work and avoiding the need to buy some kind of chicken milanese toasted foccacia goodness* every day that will also help.

I cook the kids something healthy every night so if I just make a bit more food then that’s lunch sorted the next day.

I think your right about being good on the days I know I can be, sadly that’s often a Friday to Sunday when roasts, pies and beers are calling. Got to find a solution though – even customers are telling me I look fat!

    * EDIT It’s more like a steak bake and a tomato soup

    Good and bad last night.
Bad – 5 pints and lots of pub snacks.
Good – got a pizza on the way home and only ate 1 slice before I threw it away.

Interestingly I appear to be losing my ability to drink. 5 pints knocked me out and I felt appalling this morning. I’m seeing this as a good thing as it’s cheaper and is a god incentive not to go and have 5 pints.
