I’m about to have takeaway pizza for dinner, cos I’ve had a bit of a shit day and, quite frankly, I just fancy it. It’s not all mung beans and Ryvita, you’ve got to live a little too.

I weigh myself every day – it’s interesting & helps me with the routine.

Having said that my weight loss is accelerating at a rate it shouldn’t – I’m one of the ‘not all that overweight to begin with types’. I’ve just got so used to being hungry it’s now my normal state and I’ve started to enjoy it…

Think I need some pie to sort myself out

Just about to dip under 80kg for the first time in a few years. Beer and snacks (or lack thereof) are the main reason

In it for the long run. Must keep repeating that.

Lost just over 2lb last week, but stepped on the scales this moring and back up 1lb 🙁 However since end of dry Jan have lost a little discipline – back on it now though.

Managed a couple of 40+mile road rides over the weekend and my new habit of Boris Bike commuting across London is taking hold – got my first “activity report” for the month of Jan and pleased to see I had covered 100miles on the Boris bike in the month. If I can do this through the dark winter months, then it bodes well for rest of year.

Keep on keeping on everyone – few days before next official weigh in. Good luck.

So after a bit of research it turns out that after exercise if you get a bit of DOMs then it’s likely you’ll add a bit of weight as you poor muscles hold extra water while the fix themselves.

Month 2 is the hardest time I think. The positivity & humour on here is really helping. Keep it going STWers! I need to put new holes in my belts, and buy some new slim clothes, as some are looking a bit tent-like!!

So tomorrow is the next weigh in right?

Oddly, despite being more sedentary this week, I think I have lost a reasonable amount.

Yep, tomorrow. Usual format – STW name and weight in lbs as the title of your email

4 lbs down on last weigh in for me. 23lbs lost so far.
Today I’m supposed to be riding in San Francisco, but storms and mudslides are putting me off!

    23lbs in 5 weeks.

This week has been baaaaaaaaaaad. Cider, burger, chips, more chips. That’s not really the idea, is it?

Jamie – I know – I’m a bit shocked, tbh. Interestingly, I’ve been able to maintain muscle mass and water percentage too.
I’m never going to be a skinny roadie though sadly. I’m 42, when I was undergoing Officer Training in the RAF in 1995 I was fit as a fiddle and 13.5stone.

In a couple of weeks I’m going to be transitioning to phase 2 – reintroducing more complex carbs, upping my calories and my exercise.

Just over 20lb in total and 4lb since last weigh in, it’s nice to go from eighteen something down to the sixteens. The downside, I’ll look like an egg soon.

Is there some rule of thumb as to how much weight you loose per cm/inch off your waist (without breathing in lol)?

    Damn, son.

6 weeks. Doesn’t look so good now, does it 😉

Bloody impressive, Schrickvr6 too. I think I’m on course for about 9 by the time I weigh myself tomorrow, which is bang on my 1-2/week rate and well on track for my 20-0dd lbs by June target.

Everybody needs to find to a system that works for them. My job and very irregular hours, time zones etc make conventional diet systems very hard – it’s currently 12PM in San Francisco, whereas body clock says it bedtime. When do my days start & end? I’m flying back through the night tomorrow.

The great thing about this thread is the variety – I like taking other people’s strategies and adapting them to help me.

    Oh, and it is 5 weeks – I didn’t start until 5 Jan 😀

Another 4 lbs for me takes me to 192.2lbs, I’m shocked as I don’t think I’d done too well though I have kept the exercise up.

Feeling a lot fitter too, 5k time down, heart rate down, enjoying climbing on my bike. All good,

Just been out on my bike in howling gales and rain! I doubt I’d have bothered if it wasn’t weigh day tomorrow!

Still at 80.1kg this weigh in so nothing more lost in the last few days. but I’ve been eating a lot in those days 🙂

At the March target but thermal cycle tights still auto unzip at belly.
Last week gained, back on the waggon this week. Exercise and smaller portions.

Still going down, 85kilos this morning, although the scales have been on a roller coaster this weeks as pasta, rice and beer found its way into my diet!

Another 2 down which although is a loss I am disappointed with. Haven’t been able to get warm at work for past 2 days so chocolate and chips have been consumed as comfort and warming foodsl but felt awful as soon as I’d eaten them, as in sick and rough which is probably a good thing as won’t be eating them again. Annoyed with myself as was 4.5lbs down on Tuesday

Running is getting easier but am starting to run out of clothes as all jumpers and T-shirts are looking big and baggy on me

84.6kg this morning, very happy with that. Basically a couple of pounds off this week, despite not being massively virtuous.

Actually not had a great week this week.

I was 109.9 last weekend, and then dropped to 109.1 by Tuesday. All good but I was exhausted! Too much riding and not enough food I think, so upped my kcals to 2600ish for last few days and laid off the bike a bit. Now back at 109.9 but feel much better, so thinking maybe the (almost) kg I was down by may have been dehydration.. who knows, but 109.9 is ok!

4lbs lost in the last two weeks, 19lbs overall. 🙂

    109lbs?

Too true. It’s good in that I know changes are happening, it’s bad as my nice clothes now look oversized and baggy.

Not changed an ounce in two weeks. Same as the last weigh in and the one before.

Two weeks ago I was gutted about it, now i’m thrilled.

A potential hernia and an eight year olds birthday weekend have given me two weeks of sitting on my fat arse and eating junk food.
I was expecting to have piled on a few pounds but have maintained my previous. Result.

Weird. Was 157.5lbs (down 2.5lbs) midweek. Today 159lbs despite not eating much.

    Hohum.

7 weeks to lose 5lbs to hit my revised target.

Need to start working on muscles at some point. Never been skinny fat in my life, but am now.

water, more than likely. Hence why I only weigh fortnightly, smooth out these small variations.

It’s still 3lbs off vs end Jan, so the ups and downs in-between are irrelevant

    You’re only 157.5lbs, Jamie?!?

    How tall are you?

And you were making jokes about someone on here being a jockey…. 😯

Down 5lbs on two weeks ago, and now cumulatively 14lbs – woo hoo 1stone!!

Very pleased – slow and steady – hoping I can keep the rate the same.

Best news is fit of clothes is changing – belt having to move 2 holes tighter and trousers looking too loose. Will treat myself to some new clothes end of the month.

    Good luck to everyone today!

Down another 2.5 lbs, managed to do a bit of riding since the last weigh in and last weekend was spent digging a new fence in, it’s amazing what a bit of exercise can do.

Now the new garage is finished I’m hoping that I can get out riding more in the evenings as I won’t have to faff with washing the bikes to go back in the dining room. Roll on riding to roll off weight.
