My Joplin 4 was sluggish releasing so i did a quick Google and found someone suggesting it neede “burping”. this involved undoing the collar and pumping the post several times then re-tightening the collar. However, the damn thing wont release back to it extended length without me manual pulling on it now!!! Please help….

Make sure the collar is only finger tight and ensure your seatpost clamp isn’t too tight either, if none of this sorts it you may need to add air to the post

    Reverb.

Can’t be more helpful I’m afraid. My wofe’s Joplin 3 has worked fine for ages now with a once monthly clean. Must be an off day for Crank Bros when they made hers! Back to the distributer sounds like the best plan for you, make use of the warranty support…

Is it in warranty? The product’s crap but the aftersales support is superb.

Try this – pump up to 75psi (though that might be too much pressure for the seals), release the pressure, by activating the lever/remote, pump up again, release etc until the pressure equalise and releasing the level doesnt cause the pressure to drop any more.

This worked for me once (unfortunately I then trashed the post by over tightening the 10mm nut…)

2Pure’s customer service is very good (it has to be!). If it’s a Joplin 4 then it’s probably under warranty, so send it back for repair. You could cheeky and ask about a Kronolog upgrade.

But, I’ve been in your position and a £170 Reverb from Germany was too good to resist – you’ll get half that back for a second hand Joplin too.

Mine did this after the bike was hung vertically on the wall.
Out of bike, onto floor and lots of pumping later it resolved the issue.
    Bike now hangs normally….
