chill yer boots, I was merely speculating that she may have either decided herself or recieved advice just guessing like… (they have advisors, politicians, you know…) 😆 🙄

strange she got that advice you are so sure about but the mayor did not [ nor did corbyn]-

Do you really think that police/protection teams would view the terrorism or indeed other risk profiles (nutjob protesters) for the PM the same as that for Corbyn or Kahn?

And lets not forget – Jezza’s not quite so much a man of the people as sometimes gets made out, he gets the protection officers too:

I am allowed to take the piss on this thread without people getting offended aren’t I? Because it seems odd seeing a pic of Maybot in “public” where the people she’s meeting aren’t holding placards with soundbites – it’s also a shame the shot is too far away so you can’t tell how pleased everybody is to be there.

I was not replying to you and had not read your post till now

Nonetheless same question though any proof to substantiate the assertion?

she seemed to have plenty of police to look after her.

Jezza probably needs the protection officers because of angry right wing gun nut jobs

Good point – they’re probably not hated in the same way she is, and that would also explain why she’s not met the real public in the last 6 weeks.

And lets not forget – Jezza’s not quite so much a man of the people as sometimes gets made out, he gets the protection officers too:

You’re really struggling now, aren’t you zulu? You’re using this as an example of Jezza no meeting real people? 🙄 The really hilarious thing is how it contradicts the first part of your post.

You are all being very unfair on Jamby and his yacht. Yachts are available to suit all budgets – I earn not much more than minimum wage and I have one. Possibly a bit smaller and cheaper than Jamby’s friends though.

    My yacht is very small…

    And Jamby’s is far away…

    😀

ou’re using this as an example of Jezza no meeting real people?

Erm, no, I’m using it as an example of how the Prime Minister, by virtue of being prime minister at a time of multiple terrorist attacks, might not be put in situations where her safety couldn’t be assured.

so essentially in public she is not safe and that is why she never meets the public?

Seems to me like its a shit and weak excuse for her lacking basic humanity like compassion , grace and warmth….ah that is why you are defending her peas in a pod though I assume you can walk the streets safe from harm 😉

Sold my boat years ago when tax rates went up and I left the UK, money I used to spend went into my pension. Another example of tax rises having the effect of reducing tax revenue

..and leaving the EU will curtail freedom of movement so you have to move back to the UK and pay your tax here. Well done you, you must be looking forward to the future

    Maybot may, Maybot may not.

Given your anecdote doesn’t involve Maybot, and she isn’t even mentioned in the article, it’s kind of erm, an “interesting” example. I could understand if it was being used as an example of why Jezza can’t meet the people, but that doesn’t appear to be what you’re suggesting, and nor is it what’s happening.

You’ll also have to forgive me, clearly I’m a bit thick that I didn’t ascertain that meaning from “And lets not forget – Jezza’s not quite so much a man of the people as sometimes gets made out, he gets the protection officers too:”

Been off work today so had the news channel on to follow events.
I saw Maybot not meet the public, I saw Khan surrounded by Police Officer’s and being derided, and then I saw Jeremy Corbyn being met by people who wanted him there. Going to the centre’s where people where gathered to help and even comforting one distraught crying lady as he took her leaflet showing the person she was looking for desperately

    What JY said.

It’s a pretty lame excuse. Personally, if I was in Theresa May’s shoes, I would be ashamed to have used it.

If she doesn’t like meeting people, she should not have become a politician.

then I saw Jeremy Corbyn being met by people who wanted him there

Pretty shocking that some are trying to imply that Corbyn is trying to make political capital out of this. He’s doing his job, which is asking the questions that the public would expect him to ask, comforting and talking to the victims and the community, and being a visible presence to reassure people that their leaders are there and are listening. That’s what politics is.

Which explains why she didn’t do any campaigning in the election. Afraid of being attacked.

In fact it might be safest if she goes back into her cave and never comes out again.

Can’t see her being able to quote Churchill anytime soon.

I’m not often moved to agree with Michael Portillo, but I’m with him on this:

“She met in private with the emergency services, a good thing to do no doubt, but she should have been there with the residents, which is what Jeremy Corbyn was.
She wanted an entirely controlled situation in which she didn’t use her humanity.
The Prime Minister would have been shouted at by the residents, but she should have been willing to take that.”

    they’ll never learn will they

seeing as they are the anti-brexit party I cant see in a million years that they would go for it, unless the only condition is a 2nd ref… 😉

or theresa may’s route out of this mess.

the rabid leavers get to hate the lib-dems. which they did anyway.

theresa gets to play the coalition card.

everyone else can get back to some sort of normal.

More likely just rumours started by Tories just to scare DUP a bit

unless Sinn Fein threw a massive wobbly at their meeting with May yesterday and its given her pause for thought

not sure you want to get into an intimidation game with them, they might ask their balaclava clad associates to have a friendly word…
