If wales beat ireland, and its a big if I would expect them to rip England to shreds

Ah, expectation. You know deep down that it won’t happen though don’t you?

Jeremy Guscott labels england players as a disgrace. Seems even the faithful are turning 🙂

You know what, his columns this time round have been quite refreshing. Not minding him these days as much as I used to.

Based on their current form – which consists of a narrow defeat to SA, a 7pt win over Samoa and hammerings of Namibia and a Fiji side who didn’t turn up.

I’m not saying Wales haven’t looked good but you do need to take into account the opposition.

Ditto. I would still happily punch him though!

However, Guscott and Gibbs as a centre pairing. Awesome!

Based on their current form – which consists of a narrow defeat to a victory over SA as the referee chose to take the video ref opinion on that kick, a 7pt win over Samoa and hammerings of Namibia and a Fiji side who didn’t turn upwere destroyed. Utterly destroyed with a ruthless killer streak not often seen in rugby these days

    FTFY. 😉

RWC News Hour on 5Live at the moment by the way.

If I was Johnson, I’d be slapping a media ban on all his squad – just listened to Cueto – do they have no idea of how they’re being perceived?

I think Wales looked that good against SA, I’d have to favour them in the QF.

Amusing article on rugger buggers in the Guardian:

Thanks to Mike (Tindall) and his fellow miscreants, James Haskell, Dylan Hartley and Chris Ashton, “rugby player” now conjures a man with a mystery blonde on one arm and a midget on the other, asking a hotel worker for an “Aussie kiss”, while being recorded on CCTV and, for good measure, recording it himself

Nice article, bugger all to do with playing rugby, nice article all the same. Was it written in the 70s?

I just bumped into Quaide Cooper and Radike whatshisface – very pleasant young men they were too. I asked old Quaide how much stick he was getting and he was laughing saying that for a kiwi he gets a lot of sh1t from kiwis ! I still think they will get beaten and he helpfully pointed out that with my (scottish) accent I was in no position to throw stones, pr1ck 😉

I am in this case it would be england, a team Wales have beaten regularly home and away in recent years and who they are currently playing better than, who have england beaten Argentina (who wales have too and Scotland who are crap). Samoa lets not forget have beaten Australia in Australia this year.

You know deep down that it won’t happen though don’t you?

only because I dont think we’ll beat ireland.

Armitage gets a one match ban.

Fair enough? Would the incident merit a penalty, a yellow or a red?

Myself I think he is very lucky to escape with such a short ban.

    anagallis_arvensis

His ban was 1 match due to admission of guilt, I dont think the incident was that bad, but given his history I think he’s a lucky boy.

In othernews I see Tuilagi has been fined for wearing the same mouth guard his big bro was fined for wearing. So England have racked up 4 bans, and lots of coulmn inches in the wrong end of the paper. Even Gussett thinks they are a disgrace. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_union/15157763.stm

I think it shows that England are prepared to go too far too succeed as shown by the coaches, the players are not playing with disipline, loads of pens and two bans nor are they behaving off the pitch. It shows leadership troubles IMO

He insisted that both he and his brother, who plays for Samoa, did not deliberately flout the International Rugby Board’s strict advertising and sponsorship rules.

Well it either proves they are very thick as its only them that didnt know the rules, if Mongo can manage it I’m sure anyone can, or they did it on purpose. Not much of a story though TBH

To me Englands discipline issues on and off the pitch come mainly from arrogance. They think the rules don’t apply to the chosen ones

    toys19

with the IRB confirming they have fined a number of players from a range of countries for the same “mistake”.

    I don’t think it’s limited to the tuilagi’s.

To me Englands discipline issues on and off the pitch come mainly from arrogance. They think the rules don’t apply to the chosen ones I can understand why you might find this annoying, seeing as you have just lost to us. But arrogance is just a side effect of self belief. If you don’t believe you will win, then you probably will not. Perhaps this is why Scotland havent brought home the goodies..

And there is the little dig at others again that you deny 🙄 😛

You don’t see NZ doing this do you?

    maxray

OMG!!! still going on about arrogance! 😯 Let it go Jeremy.

Reckon we can talk about rugby without just relentlessly trying to bash our opposing home nation teams?

    toys19

It isn’t a dig TJ, its an opinion, if you worry about upsetting people because of your self confidence then perhaps this might reduce your self confidence, and hence your performance. Your perception of a dig is clouded by the fact that you are hurt by scotlands failure.

You don’t see NZ doing what? I don’t see what I have done that is a “dig” define it please. The worst that you can accuse me of is defending my team agaisnt the constant onslaught from you and AA

    TandemJeremy

Toys – thats nothing to do with it. I am not hurt at being beaten by England I am hurt by not playing to our potential

You claimed earlier not to be making digs at other teams – well you do and do so all the time without realising it IMO

But arrogance is just a side effect of self belief.

Is a reasonable opinion – wrong IMO but not unreasoanble

I can understand why you might find this annoying, seeing as you have just lost to us.

is the little dig again. Waht has scotland poor performance got to do with the fact England keep on getting into disciplinary trouble on and off the field.

Maxraqy – its the arrogance that leads them to believe they can behave like this

    toys19

Wasn’t a dig, I was merely pointing out that your opinion of england is a fairly one eyed one mainly because you lost to them, isn’t that a valid thing to say?

Waht has scotland poor performance got to do with the fact England keep on getting into disciplinary trouble on and off the field.

Well I was continuing on from your theory that englands discipline is related to their arrogance, arrogance stemming from self belief, self belief leading to them beating scotland. Simple.

    TandemJeremy

YOu don’t see NZ getting into disciplinary issues on and off the field in the same way.

Toys – you need to get that chip off your shoulder. Really – its almost comical how much you keep doing what you accuse others of.

No – cos its nonsense. Yo need to actually read what is said.

England beat Scotland because they were the better team on the day and Scotland were not good enough. I said that at the time.

You have this enormous chip on your shoulder

Reading about Cuetos “outburst” it just seems the english lads dont get it. You are playing in the World Cup, your captain has just married royalty you come from a country with a rabid press, a former captain was stitched up by the NOTW and you dont think you are going to be the focus of press attention. If it isnt arrogance then they are as thick as dog shit. Just be proffessional and keep your heads down, everyone else seems to be able to do it. Cueto bleating that this wouldnt happen at home HELLO you arent at home you are at the World Cup.

In other news Italian hooker cited for gouging, bit harsh imho.

That is laughable, you accusing me of having a chip on my shoulder, about 50% of what you post is anti english, I’m just defending them.

    TandemJeremy

Toys – its not. Its only because of your enormous chip you think this.
50% of what I post is anti english – only from your one eyed viewpoint. Try actually reading it with an open mind

You exhibit exactly the lack of understanding, the arrogance and the siege mentality that leads the england team to behave like this and to be so widely disliked.

Seriously guys, take this to a PM or something, I reckon people are far more interested in talking about the RWC than reading about you arguing. Good chunks of conversation are split with back ‘n’ forth bickering that doesn’t even get anywhere.

You said this.. no you said this.. well you are this.. it’s like fekkin kids. 🙄
