Looking to get away for a city break probably October. Would like it to be warm. Short haul ideally less than 3 hours from Leeds-Bradford.
Any cities in Europe that will still be warm in October?

Barcelona and Rome are the 2 that spring to mind. Both awesome for different reasons.

Barcelona. Loads to do and a beach. Should be mid 20’s degrees in October. Cheap flights if you book early too.

I’ve just been looking at Valencia as I’m thinking of being out of the UK for a few days around the 31st October….

Ryanair from Manchester about £70 return flight.

Metroline straight into to town from airport is about 20 mins & 5 Euro. Weather is still right nice at that time of year.

    Rome. Definitely Rome.

It’s, without a doubt, the most spectacular city I’ve ever been to.

We’re doing Lisbon. Did some research and it looks stunning. I’ve been to Rome in October and it was boiling but still busy. Get an Omnia pass if you do Rome, it’s well worth the outlay now.

I’d recommend Bordeaux, we went two years ago mid October and it was very warm, flights were only 1h30m from Bristol and we had a great time, loads to see and do and the food was out of this world.

Thanks folks, Valencia or perhaps Florence then. Or maybe Lisbon.

Did Rome & Barcelona last year. Rome is great; tbh if you’re not into Gaudi or Football, Barcelona is a bit dull.

Been to the Dordogne which isn’t that far from Bordeaux; yes, the food was amazing 🙂

Been to Valencia in November for Moto GP and weather was still great. Enough to see in a weekend and food was amazing.

We were in Seville last December and it was warm enough for shorts and T shirt

as above, lovely city and well worth a visit

I suspect Bilboa is also warm and I enjoyed that even more

Seville: great food and impressive galleries. If you want hotter still, nip up to Ecija where even the traffic has a siesta.

Barcelona, Rome, and Lisbon will still be mobbed by tourists.
I think Valencia is a good call – it has a very historic centre and a modern feel, far cleaner than Barcelona too. Seville is good too.

Valencia is very nice, although we preferred Rome.

How about Palma? We’ve gone in mid October and the weather was glorious.

I just looked up gigs in Barca and valencia end oct and nothings really on, I usually plan a trip around a concert. I wouldn’t worry about the tourist crowds in Bca they are all in the same places so easily avoided.

Depends What you are looking for, I love food markets and the cafes in them. For that theres probably more choice in bca but the central market in valencia is amasing.

Weather wise valencia will be a couple of degrees warmer.

    I prefer Valencia to Barca.

San Sebastian looks like it could be a nice weekend visit, I have only passed through but plan to go back at some point to linger for a couple of days.

or Palma is a great city break location with the option of some beach time.

    Palma might be possible.
Not sure I can get to the north coast of Spain from Leeds-Bradford airport.

Been to Barca (twice), Rome, Venice (twice), Sorrento, Nice, Cannes, Frejus/St Raphael, Minorca.

Less warm, been to Stockholm, Berlin, Prague, NYC, Toronto, Niagara, Calgary, Vancouver & points in between, Vancouver Island, Donegal, Dublin, Perigeux, Normandy. And not forgetting Whitley Bay!

On the basis that you want to travel from LBA, you seem to have been to most of the places likely to be warm in October. Have you thought of Dubrovnik? Also maybe somewhere like Budapest might be OK then. I went to Krakow in March and the weather was glorious and would definitely recommend.

    Why Leeds Bradford airport?

It’s about 10mins drive away. Getting to Manchester is a PITA

I think we’ve done most of the LABIA destinations (leeds and bradford international airport – an acronym they really should do more with given it’s on everyone’s lips) with Jet2. Manchester gives more options including Bilbao which is a great weekend, but adds about three hours each way what with getting in and out of Leeds, and across the pennines. So what’s missing…

Don’t write off las Palmas, Gran Canaria for a city break. Spain’s 8th largest city and some interesting hotel options, cheap 4.5 hour flight. Malaga is easy and cheap with some good eating and a bit of a bohemian side. I’d say guaranteed sun had it not pissed it down when we were there the whole time. has anyone said Budapest yet? Should still be warm. Party central. Or just go to Lisbon like everyone says…

Valencia is nice OP, well worth a visit. Weather is generally good right up to November, even December can be warm.

    Are there any?

Seriously though, no I haven’t, might be worth a look

FlyBe, Wizz, TUI all fly from there so I’d imagine you can get to the Iberian Peninsula easily, or Eastern Europe
