There was fairly wide agreement (I do not know how well informed) that he took enough steroids to be fairly barking. Also, I tend to agree with Mat's reasoning that going on a shooting and camping rampage while writing absurdly long letters about how you're starting a war with Northumbria Police is probably not indicative of a very even keel. 🙂
