    I’m currently running a 150mm 650b Pike in a 26’er frame. Its 10mm taller than a 150mm Mazz fork so tall.

I think you’d find yourself sat even higher/feeling ‘tall’? Which isn’t good. Have a look at the A-C length of the two.

Any further confirmation out there that the 2015 rc’s have a 3 position compression dial now (as per north country boys).

Sounds like that’s the rct version to me!

I was under the impression the OEM didn’t have the same top end of the charger damper. If its the same it wouldn’t be called just ‘RC’ 😉

Plus it has less clicks of adjustments.

Hey don’t get me wrong for £320 I’d but one. Compared to what else there is new at that price on the market why wouldn’t you?!

Question- if you have a warranty issue can you send it straight off to Fisher or does it need to go back to source? (I did this with SLX brakes bought in Germany to Fisher).

For those like me (tight) and are looking at the 29’er fork as a cheep’er alternative to the 27.5, here are the stats:

    A/C of 552mm and 561mm for the 27.5″ and 29″ respectively.
Offsets are 42 and 46 too.

Humm. Saves me a fair chunk of cash, but I may end up with a shonky handling bike?!

There is ~10mm in it. Low rise bars and slam the stem?.

Depends on the frame Neil, have done this on a few of my bikes but always in conjunction with a shortened eye to eye shock to keep the bb at a reasonable height with the frame being not too slack to start with as you may end up with a very very slack head angle that only works on very steep stuff 😉 Although you could run the forks with 10mm less travel to get closer to the original a to c as the 29er wheel will roll over stuff better than the 650

Personally I’d go for the 650b. You may buy it and still need to lower bars/stem to cater to personal feel. That way you still have lots of options to play with in setting up.

I’ve found many times that doing it on the cheep compromises fun.

LoCo – would go on an NS Eccentric hardtail. It is 650b specific, and hasn’t got an overly slack headangle. I was going to get a works bottom cup to sort that, but this may well do the job, in a round about way!!!

Hora – got to agree with you, but the inner pikey just wont let it go… A ton, is a ton as they say!

Hovering over the buy button on these – I’m a little confused as they seem to be Dual Position/Solo air

Thought they were called Dual air if Dual position?

    Any ideas?

^ Dual air & dual position are different. Those are solo air chamber with travel adjust 130mm/160mm.

The old dual air system gave you 2 air chambers to fine tune the forks & the ability to alter travel with spacers. The new solo air system is less faff but not adjustable and you have to change/machine the air piston to change travel. Dual position is the adjustable travel which isn’t related to the solo/dual air.

Those will be OEM, i’m pretty sure you can’t buy dual position in black. It’s white only for retail, so you won’t get the shock pump & seal kit etc.

That’s a really good price for the DPAs. They’re a great fork.

Hmmm can live with OEM at that price – just didn’t think you could get dual position/solo air

Anyone know where the best deals on 27.5 pikes are at the moment ?

CRC have them for the same price, less whatever discount code is floating around?
Or you can get the full retail version from Merlin for £540, and they’ll actually dispatch them on time unlike CRC!

Not got 26″ dual position 160mm as far as I can see Nick?

Is it still possible to change the travel on the Solo Air RC model with a new air shaft? I need to go from 150mm to 160mm.

I went and got them over the counter from Winstanleys in the end – couldn’t bear waiting!
