Me and the mrs have a 2005 Ford Focus 1.6 that is simply too big for us.
It only has 38000 on the clock but last month I reversed it painfully slowly into a wooden fence, the bumper cracked near the weld. The car is simply too big for what we need so we are looking to downsize.
The quote for mending this, well replacing the bumper, is £350ish would you advise we trade in with the damage or wait and get it fixed. Really don't want to go to the hassle of getting it fixed when were not even keeping it.
Would a garage accept it with a cracked bumper and how much would we expect to lose off the trade in value?
Thanks for any advice on this.
My dealer was quite upfront with me an told me not to bother getting mine fixed as they would just do the work at trade cost. On another car with much more damage the dealer did not even blink. Both cars where one owner 5-6 years old when I was p/x them.
Yeah, just trade it in. They can fix it cheaper than you. You'll still need to haggle though.
Ok think we will go see the car we have seen this weekend. It's such a little crack on an otherwise immaculate car.
would a BG sticker or similar cover it ?
Not really as its low down. Bumper is slightly askew too.
Unless you've got a mate who'll do it for trade, I'd part-ex it with damage.
Yeah we will do that then, cheers everyone.
