I’d like to mount a mudguard onto the seatstays of a turner flux, but the stays are square extrusions

I’ve got a mudguard from decathlon that mounts using the v-brake studs

I was thinking of trying to mount a decathlon mudgard using a pclip

    like this from evans

    or something more generic

any ideas whether these p-clips are flexible enough to work with such a square shape asa the flux seat stays? Any other ideas?

I used a piece of meccano and a zip tie on my squarish carbon stays:

P-clips are pretty deformable – try pre-bending with pliers to a square shape first.

I have some nylon adjustable P clips in I think three sizes, they may be more flexible. Drop me an email with your address and I’ll post you some.

Try the zefal no- mud. No p-clips required..
It has thick zip-tie style fastenings. Looks similar to the decathlon offering but sits better on the square stays I reckon.

I have the same Decathlon guard & similar square stays.

Used p-clips on my old frame, was ok but not brilliant

Not got round to experimenting with this one yet

Jules, that’s exactly what I’m planning for the 6 pack. I’m pretty certain that with a pair of slip joint pliers, I can make those p-clips as square as they need to be.

I put a strip of inner tube round the frame so the clips didn’t have to be fully square

I’m sure it’d be just as easy with cable ties

I’ve used the plastic mounts that come with reflectors in the past a bit more deformable. Or you could pad out the frame with a small amount of rubber (innertube) to make it rounder.

There might be other mounting options so pop into a hardware shop to see what they have.

Drill the frame…plenty of metal so you are not going to have a premature failure.
4mm Allen bolts should do it.

don’t want it mounted on the post, want it mounted on the seat stays. got a crud guard, don’t think it’s efffective enough with the suspension

thanks for your useful input though
